Last week, members of the BELL team from across our studios had the privilege of touring the Woolworths Group, Primary Connect Moorebank National and Regional Distribution Centre Precinct in Western Sydney and it did not disappoint.
As architect and interior designer for this landmark $1.3 billion project, seeing the facility operating at full capacity is a powerful reminder of what exceptional collaboration and bold thinking can deliver. Two state-of-the-art multi-level distribution centres spanning over 126,000 sqm, advanced automation and robotics systems, a direct rail connection to Port Botany removing 26,000 truck movements from Sydney’s roads annually, 5-Star Green Star ratings across both facilities, and a rooftop solar installation generating enough energy to power 880 households. All delivered on time and under budget.
But beyond the numbers, what struck our team most was how intentionally the human experience has been woven through a project of this scale, from the quality and warmth of the workplace environment to the design-led approach to safety, inclusivity, and long-term workforce wellbeing. Reading about it is one thing. Standing inside it is another entirely.
A heartfelt thank you to Stacey Faith at Woolworths for so generously giving up her time and leading such a thorough and enthusiastic tour. Your passion for the project was evident and made the experience all the richer for our team.
