PROJECT COMPLETION | EDUCATION | SA

BELL is proud to celebrate the completion of Bethany Christian School’s new Gymnasium and Multipurpose Sports Facility in Paralowie, South Australia.

Established in 1981, Bethany Christian School is a three-stream school providing educational services from ELC to Year 6. To support the school’s commitment to improving its services and facilities for students, Bethany required a flexible, purpose-built facility to act as a central hub for sport, staff and students.

Continuing a long-standing partnership, BELL was engaged from initial concept design through to project completion, delivering architecture, interior and landscape design services. Working closely with Mossop Construction and the broader consultant team, BELL led the coordination and development of a highly tailored outcome aligned with the school’s vision.

The 2,773m² single-storey facility establishes a new focal point for sport and recreation within the campus. A strong arrival sequence defines the building, with a bold precast façade expressing the school’s identity, and school colours and values explored within. Designed as a flexible and connected environment for movement-based learning and school gatherings, the building incorporates a single-court indoor gymnasium, covered outdoor courts, and a series of adaptable environments including a central foyer and events area, activity gallery, movement room and supporting staff facilities. These spaces are unified through a design approach that enables seamless transition between teaching, sport and school community use.

Through BELL’s close relationship with the school and in the role as leading consultant, the BELL team has carefully shaped each space to deliver a highly functional facility that supports the needs of staff and students, while enabling future growth.

Congratulations to Bethany Christian School, Mossop Construction and the broader project team on the successful delivery of this outstanding educational facility.

COMPANY | AUS

At BELL Architecture, gathering to celebrate International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the skill and impact of the women across our studios nationwide. With a strong female team across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, the women of BELL continue to shape our company culture and contribute meaningfully to our industry influence.

In South Australia, our team attended the Australian Institute of Architects’ “In Balance” luncheon at Bloom, bringing together the architecture and design community for conversation around the global theme Balancing the Scales. An engaging discussion with Elaine Chia, CEO of the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, explored lived experience, professional trajectory, and influences, guided by Jasmine Placentino, co-chair of the Australian Institute of Architects Committee for Gender, Equity, Diversity & Impact, and Hannah White, Adelaide Design Week board member.

On the East Coast, our team joined UN Women Australia’s IWD luncheon at the Sydney International Convention Centre, hearing from an inspiring line-up of speakers including Jennifer Robinson, Human Rights Lawyer and Barrister; Grace Tame, Writer, Advocate, Runner; Vanessa Turnbull-Roberts, Commissioner for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Children & Young People; and Jess Hill, Walkley-Award Winning Journalist, Author, Educator. The event reinforced the importance of advocacy, visibility, and collective action in accelerating meaningful outcomes for women.

To the women of BELL and across our industry - Happy International Women’s Day!

PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT | WORKPLACE | SA

BELL is pleased to announce the commencement of construction for ResourceCo’s new Adelaide Head Office located at Kent Town.

A valued returning client, ResourceCo has once again engaged BELL to deliver the Interior Design and Project Coordination for their new 1,040sqm fit out. Re-locating from their Rose Park location – previously designed by BELL, the new space will establish a refreshed head office environment aligned with the company’s continued growth and evolution.

The design introduces a simplified, neutral palette enriched with earthy tones and layered textures, creating a calm and refined workplace identity. With limited access to natural light within the core floorplan, the scheme prioritises brightness, material warmth, and spatial clarity to ensure a bright and high-performing environment for staff and visitors alike.

With the six-month construction program now underway by Jaytex Construction, we look forward to sharing progress as ResourceCo’s new head office takes shape, due for completion in June.

PROJECT COMPLETION | RETAIL | SA

BELL is proud to celebrate the grand opening of the new Drakes Supermarket in Mount Gambier, officially unveiled this week.

Delivered in collaboration with Leyton Property & Drakes Supermarkets, this project demonstrates BELL’s strength in repositioning existing sites and transforming ageing assets into contemporary, high-performing retail destinations.

Originally constructed as a Coles supermarket, the building has been reimagined for Drakes — a respected South Australian, family-owned supermarket group — marking their 69th retail location. BELL was engaged from the pre-purchase stage, working with Leyton Property to assess opportunity, develop the design vision and collaborate on the project through planning and delivery.

BELL’s architectural scope included façade redesign, site upgrades and full car park redevelopment, incorporating new shade structures and modern amenities to deliver a clean, functional and inviting customer experience. The result is a retail environment that meets Drakes’ high standards for 2025, while breathing new life into a key Mount Gambier town centre site.

This project reflects BELL’s proven capability in the retail and mixed-use sectors, where we combine design strategy, adaptive reuse and operational insight to deliver value-driven outcomes for clients and communities.

Congratulations to , , , Wyatt Contracting and the entire project team on this successful completion.
