Snapped 2 teeth off tonight, and only have spare teeth for my small machine, oh.well grinding grinding just keep grinding, then welding, welding,

While we were onsite sorting his rainwater tank base etc,

we also dug and laid a new water line, upgrading it from his dam up the hill and through his fruit trees to supply their sprinklers, and continued up to the house,

The idea was that it would supply fire sprinklers on the roof of the house and surrounding paddock,

and also ran a waterline into his future cattle yard to supply water troughs,

valves were installed at the start of each section so they could be isolated, and water directed to were it was needed.

I was also lucky enough to receive a visit from a very special guest
(my youngest daughter Tilly) kept me company and gave me a hand operating the excavator for a few days while on school holidays,

This customer was unsure on how to solve a few issues, he was having, setting up a base for a 30,000 litre rainwater tank he wanted installed,

first problem was the inlet to the tank would end up being 400mm higher than the gutters, if the current ground level stayed as it was,

second problem, water naturally flowed right through the middle of his tanks intended location, on the surface and sub surface,

3rd issue was what was he gonna do with the overflow from the tank once it was full,

easy, after a few calculations we decided.to drop the base of the tank 500mm below ground, this would give him 100mm fall from bottom of gutters to tanks inlet,

Then we set up agg drain to take care of the ground water issue, which we ran just outside the tanks perimeter around both sides of the tank meeting together on the low side that would then discharge into an insitu sump,
The agg drain was wrapped with geo fabric to keep out roots weeds and mud,

this also helped solve the third issue of what to do with the tanks overflow,

which would also discharge into the intended sump, with the outlet running under ground past the driveway following the natural fall of the hill, eventually discharging into a valley that flowed down hill to the properties lower dam,

Cut a new track In at uncle bucks, to gain better access to fence lines along scrub land that was becoming a potential fire hazard, also gave the driveway a freshen up, and dealt with some uninvited, and unwanted burrowing freeloaders that were tearing up the paddock,
