💛 R U OK? Day — 10 September 2026

R U OK? 💛

Today is R U OK? Day — a reminder that a simple question can make a big difference.

Take a moment to check in with the people around you. Ask the question, listen to their answer and let them know you’re there.

EDR Building Designs is proud to support and sponsor R U OK? Day and the important message behind it.

Ask the question. Start the conversation. 💛

Colour can do more than add personality—it can change the way you experience a space. 🎨

From making a room feel wider and brighter to creating depth and drawing attention to a feature, thoughtful colour placement can have a surprisingly big impact.

Small change. Big difference 🤩

🏡 How to Make a Small Home Feel Larger

A smaller footprint doesn't have to mean compromising on space. With thoughtful design, even compact homes can feel open, bright and functional.

Here are a few of our favourite design tips:

✨ Embrace Open-Plan Living
Reducing unnecessary walls creates a seamless flow and makes rooms feel more spacious.

☀️ Maximise Natural Light
Large windows, glass doors and skylights can brighten your home and create a greater sense of openness.

📦 Incorporate Clever Storage
Built-in cabinetry, under-stair storage and multi-functional furniture help minimise clutter and maximise every square metre.

🎨 Keep Colours Light and Neutral
Soft tones reflect light, helping spaces feel brighter, larger and more inviting.

📏 Create Higher Ceilings
Raked or raised ceilings draw the eye upward and add a sense of volume to living areas.

🌿 Blur the Line Between Indoors and Outdoors
A well-designed alfresco area with large sliding or stacking doors can make your living space feel much bigger.

At the end of the day, great design isn't about building bigger—it's about designing smarter.

Thinking about building or renovating? We'd love to help you create a home that feels spacious, functional and perfectly suited to your lifestyle.
