🚨 Safety Alert 139 Released – Eye Safety

This alert highlights the risks associated with not wearing correct eye protection, including:

👓 Wearing the correct eye protection for the task
👓 Inspecting your safety glasses before use and replacing scratched, cracked or damaged lenses
👓 Using machine guards, screens and barriers to contain flying particles where possible

Remember your ABC – Assume nothing. Believe no-one. Check everything.

All apprentices and host employers are encouraged to read Safety Alert 139 in full and discuss it on site.

A fantastic milestone for Big Sister Program , Equip-Safe, EGT and ETI. ⚡

Last week, the first full group of Big Sister Apprentices employed by EGT began their training with Equip-Safe, taking another important step towards becoming electrical apprentices.

Of the 18 apprentices in this group, 16 are women, which is a brilliant sign that the Big Sister program is helping create real pathways for women entering the electrical industry.

It was fantastic to see the group in training, building confidence, developing practical skills and starting their journey into the trade.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved. We are proud to support this next generation of future electricians and cannot wait to see where their apprenticeships take them.

Big Sister is a Building Women’s Careers (BWC) Program and BWC is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
