⚠️ Public Service Announcement ⚠️
Electrical Fire Hazard Alert: RCBO Fire Incident Linked to EV Charger
Attention Residents and EV Owners:

A recent incident where we were called out to a client that’s lost power to half her house. involving a Residual Current Breaker with Overload (RCBO) that caught fire after an electric vehicle (EV) charger was plugged in, overloading the circuit. Fortunately, no injuries occurred, but the situation serves as a critical reminder of the importance of electrical safety.

What Happened:
An EV charger was plugged into a standard circuit not rated for high continuous loads.
The resulting overload caused the RCBO to overheat and catch fire.

What You Need to Know:
EV chargers draw significant power and require circuits specifically designed to handle the load.
Standard household circuits may not be sufficient—never plug an EV charger into a regular socket without first consulting a licensed electrician.
A qualified professional must install any EV charging equipment to ensure it complies with electrical safety standards.
Safety Tips:
✅ Always use dedicated EV charging infrastructure installed by certified electricians.
✅ Regularly inspect your electrical panel and breakers for signs of wear, heat, or damage.
✅ If you notice any burning smells, heat from outlets, or tripping breakers—turn off the power and call a professional immediately.
✅ Install smoke detectors near your electrical panel and garage.
This incident is a serious warning—EV charging is not plug-and-play. Ensuring your electrical system is up to the task is critical for your safety and the safety of your home.
For more information or to schedule a safety inspection, feel free to contact us.

Stay safe. Power smart.

Adding lighting to a shed offers numerous practical and safety benefits, whether the shed is used for storage, a workshop, or a relaxation space. Here are the main advantages:

1. Improved Visibility and Safety
Reduces trip hazards: Proper lighting makes it easier to see tools, equipment, or obstacles.
Safe access at night: Well-lit paths and interiors reduce the risk of injury during low-light hours.

2. Extended Use Hours
Allows you to use the shed during early morning or evening hours, especially in winter when daylight is limited.

3. Enhanced Functionality
For workshops: Better lighting is essential for precision in tasks like woodworking or repairs.
For storage sheds: Easier to find and organize items, especially in deep or cluttered spaces.

4. Increased Security
Exterior lighting can deter thieves or vandals.
Motion-sensor lights can alert you to activity near your shed.

5. Energy Efficiency Options
Solar-powered or LED lighting offers an eco-friendly and low-cost lighting solution.

6. Boosts Property Value
A well-lit and functional shed can be a value-adding feature for potential buyers.

7. Versatility
Interior lights can be task-specific (workbench lighting) or ambient (for relaxation).
Exterior lights improve curb appeal and usability.

🔥Why you need a Smoke Alarm 🔥

✅Smoke alarms provide early warnings of fire outbreaks.
They emit audible alerts, which is an essential feature because you might not always be in the same area or room where a fire starts.

🧯These alerts will give you enough time to respond to the alert by addressing the flame using a fire extinguisher or running to a safe area outside the house or office.

✅All Class Energy can install and service Fire Alarms in your home or rental!

Installing a split system air conditioner offers several benefits for both winter and summer use:

1. Energy Efficiency
Split systems are generally more energy-efficient than traditional heating and cooling units. They use inverter technology, which adjusts the compressor's speed to maintain the desired temperature without constant on/off cycles, reducing energy consumption.

2. Heating and Cooling in One Unit
A split system air conditioner can both heat and cool your space, providing year-round comfort. In summer, it cools the air, while in winter, it can function as a heat pump, warming the room without the need for separate heating systems.

3. Quick Temperature Adjustment
These units are fast at adjusting the temperature of a room. Whether it’s a hot summer day or a cold winter night, a split system can quickly reach your ideal comfort level.

4. Quiet Operation
Split system air conditioners are generally quieter compared to traditional window units or central heating systems, ensuring a peaceful environment during both hot and cold seasons.

5. Improved Air Quality
Split systems often come with built-in air filtration systems that help purify the air. This is especially helpful for people with allergies or respiratory concerns, as it reduces the presence of dust, pollen, and other allergens.

7. Space-Saving Design
Split systems are more compact and take up less space than traditional air conditioning units or portable heaters, making them ideal for apartments or smaller homes.

8. Cost-Effective Over Time
While the initial installation may be more expensive, split systems are generally cost-effective over the long term due to their energy efficiency and durability. This means lower electricity bills and fewer maintenance costs.
