Hi there everyone. Happy April fools day. In recognition of the Australian campaign for smoke detectors I thought I would revisit this post. Today is all about a reminder to check your smoke detectors and replace your old batteries.
Some of you might not know this but they actually have a lifespan and need to be checked regularly and replaced after 10 years from manufacture.
Don't fall into the old saying it still works so it should be ok.
To tell their manufacturer date you will need to open them up and look for the date stamp. Usually in the day/ month/year configuration.
Also remember now due to the new laws these detectors need to be hard wired or the battery ones need to have a lithium battery rated for 10 years.
If you have any issues or questions feel free to contact me and I can help you or organise a time and day to replace if need be.
Have a safe day all
