There is an approach in garden design where you use plants or objects in pairs or even numbers if you want to create a feeling of formality and in uneven numbers if you want an informal feel. Given Monet was a very good garden designer, I can’t help wondering if there is a third lily out of the frame. If so, where? Try a few different spots and see what feels right
