Instead of simply rebuilding, our clients wanted a smarter, more resilient design to withstand potential future floods. The aim was to make clean up straightforward, avoiding the extensive damage experienced in 2022.

Here are some features of the design :

- Concrete hobs (400mm high) at the base of the internal walls, lifting the timber frame above potential flood levels
- No gyprock at risk, reducing damage from minor flooding
- Cabinetry, electrical and other fixtures positioned above the flood resilient zone
- Durable flooring designed to be cleaned and retained rather than replaced
- Specialist input from former building code consultant to ensure wet areas are tiled in a way that allows them to stay in place after flooding and simply been cleaned

This approach provides a long-term solution for flood resilience, minimising future disruption and costly repairs.
