It’s been a while since we have installed a solar system without batteries.
The team completed this one in Bangalow recently:
13 x Trina 475 watt panels
1 x Fronius Gen24 Inverter

Installed in parallel with an existing Fronius system.

Already for adding batteries and EV charging.

Its been a while between drinks folks!

The last 12 months have been a whirlwind! Saying goodbye to staff members, welcoming new staff members, battery rebates being announced, then pulled at the 11th hour, stock shortages, product recalls...and now a new battery rebate time line - the solar coaster is real!

In between all the chaos the team have been busy installing batteries (when stock was finally available), solar panels, A/C's and heat pumps.

The team recently completed this system in Lennox Head - we installed a 7kw Enphase system back in 2019 - we added another 8 x Trina 440 watt solar panels and a Sigenergy SigenStor 10S - 32 Battery.

We were pleased to receive a call from this lovely lady in Alstonville who reached out when her original installer was unresponsive. She suspected an issue with her nine-year-old string inverter and requested a system check. Within a week of her initial enquiry, we diagnosed her inverter as faulty and irreparable and ordered and installed a replacement inverter.

At minimal expense, this customer’s original panels are generating electricity again and her system is ready to add battery storage when the NSW Government rebate scheme launches later this year. ☀️⚡️💲

Apologies for the radio silence folks. The team has been busy installing some of our largest systems yet. The average rooftop solar installation in Australia is now over 9kW and we’re seeing that reflect in our own projects. Below is a great example.

This 27kW Enphase system formed part of a larger renovation project in Knockrow. It features 60 Trina panels installed across two adjacent utility buildings. It was particularly challenging due to the steep 35-degree roof pitch and standing seam roofing material.

The system comprises:

60 x 450W Trina panels
60 x 360W Enphase IQ8AC microinverters

At Light Touch Solar & Electrical, we don’t door knock or cold call. Heck, we don’t even have a marketing budget! Our approach to business is simple – we invest in great local staff who take their time to ensure our installations are completed perfectly, every time. This leads to repeat business, like this customer in Lennox Head who was referred to us by his neighbour.

The team installed our first Enphase IQ Battery - one of the first in the country - in Lennox Head last week. This schmick-looking battery compliments an existing 13kW Enphase microinverter system. This customer now enjoys 24-hour solar power and the ability to monitor his complete Enphase solar and battery system via Enphase's Enlighten App. And should he wish to expand in the future, there is plenty of space on the wall for further batteries! ☀️⚡️🔋

Here is another beautiful new build home we recently worked on in Suffolk Park. The property is subject to a large protected tuckeroo located directly to the north. To the extent possible, we installed panels away from the shade path of the tree, however Enphase microinverters ensure those that do receive shade don’t affect others in the system. The property also benefits from a Tesla Powerwall which kicks in within 100th of a second to supply electricity when the solar system is not keeping up with demand.

The system comprises:
