A butler’s pantry is the ultimate walk in pantry and one of those additions that can make a kitchen feel so much more organised.
Instead of having your main kitchen benches taken over by everyday appliances, a butler’s pantry gives them their own dedicated space. They can stay plugged in, easy to access and ready to use, while keeping the main kitchen looking clean and uncluttered.
Think:
• Coffee machine
• Air fryer
• Juicer
• Blender
• Mixmaster
• Toaster or sandwich press
• Slow cooker or pressure cooker
• Thermomix
• Microwave
And if space allows, you could even include a second fridge or drinks fridge.
But a good butler’s pantry is about more than hiding appliances. It can also give you extra bench space, drawers and cupboards, open pantry shelving, well placed power points, bin storage and somewhere for bulky cookware, serving platters and all those things that never quite have a home in the main kitchen.
You can take it even further with a sink, dishwasher or additional food preparation area, effectively creating a second working zone behind the main kitchen.
And it doesn’t have to be huge.
A smaller butler’s pantry might simply include pantry storage and an appliance bench, while a larger space can become almost a second kitchen. You can add or remove features, make it bigger or smaller and design it around how you actually use your kitchen and what works within your budget.
Less clutter. More storage. More usable bench space. And everything still conveniently close at hand.
It really is the ultimate version of a walk in pantry.
