Tree roots…… our sewer pipes worst nightmare! As you can see below, these tree roots have made old earthenware pipes their home. Not only do tree roots block pipes, therefore not allowing the sewer to flow correctly. In some cases they also cause the sewer pipes to collapse. The pressure of the roots forcing their way into the pipes and growing into solid expanding lumps often wins the battle over the brittle earthenware pipes.
In this case the roots won the battle… meaning the sewer line needed to be dug up, removed and replaced with a new PVC sewer pipe line.
Unfortunately the sewer pipes are often located in very narrow spots, with bushes and trees above them, this job is a good example of exactly that.
Once all the bushes and small trees were cut down, it was time for the digging and exposing of the old pipes so that they could be removed. The new PVC sewer line was installed and it was then a matter of backfilling and cleaning up the effected area and making it just how it was before this job started!
Now that this customer has their new PVC sewer line installed, they won’t need to worry about anymore blocked drains!
