🏆 MBA STATE AWARD WINNER | INVERELL AQUATIC CENTRE

Hines Constructions is proud to celebrate the Inverell Aquatic Centre, named Winner of the 2026 MBA State Excellence in Building Awards - Sporting Facilities ($20 Million - $50 Million). This prestigious recognition highlights the delivery of a landmark aquatic and recreation destination that has transformed community sport, leisure, and wellbeing in the Inverell region.

A special congratulations to Inverell Shire Council, whose vision, partnership, and commitment to the project helped bring this outstanding community asset to life. Together, we have delivered a facility that will serve the Inverell community for generations to come.

Congratulations also to Alan Vermeer, Project Manager on the project, who proudly accepted the award on behalf of the wider project team. With 26 years at Hines Constructions, Alan's leadership and expertise played a significant role in the successful delivery of the project.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, collaboration, and hard work of everyone involved.

The Noel Moxon Grandstand at the Bathurst Showground is a great example of preserving local heritage while ensuring the structure remains functional for future generations.

Delivered for Public Works Advisory, the project involved extensive structural remediation works to the heritage-listed grandstand, including new footings, structural steel supports, hardwood timber elements, cladding, lighting, and restoration works. Careful planning was required throughout construction, with the project delivered within a live environment and pausing to allow the grandstand to operate during the Royal Bathurst Show.

Originally constructed in 1891, the grandstand remains an important part of Bathurst's history, and we are proud to have played a role in helping preserve this iconic community asset for years to come.

As another day of construction draws to a close, progress continues across the future aged care community, with each milestone bringing the project closer to completion. Captured in the evening light, the scale of the development is becoming increasingly apparent as multiple work fronts continue to advance across the site.

Designed to provide contemporary accommodation, quality amenities, and welcoming shared spaces, this residential aged care village will support residents with a comfortable and connected living environment while enabling staff to deliver exceptional care.

It's rewarding to see this important project taking shape and contributing to the future of aged care in the Cessnock region.

⛳ Hines Social Club Golf Day | Wentworth Golf Club, Orange

The clubs may have come out for bragging rights, but the real winner was a great day spent with the Hines Constructions team.

Held at Wentworth Golf Club in Orange, this year's Social Club Golf Day brought together team members from across the business for an afternoon of friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and a few questionable golf swings along the way.

After a closely contested day on the course, David and Lance claimed the top spot and earned themselves the title of 2026 Hines Constructions Social Club Golf Day Champions. 🏆

A great reminder of the strong culture that exists across Hines Constructions, both on and off the job site.

The Denise Spencer Aquatic Centre continues to take shape in Roma, with the project entering an exciting phase as more of the facility's key features come to life.

Across the site, internal fit-out and painting works are progressing, while the installation of the waterslides is now well underway. As one of the centre's standout attractions, waterplay equipment is being installed, further enhancing the family-friendly offering of the development.

With each new element added, the vision for this modern aquatic destination becomes clearer, bringing the project one step closer to providing a new hub for recreation, wellbeing, and community connection.

🏉 2026 NRL Grand Final Weekend 🏉

While the result didn't go the way of his beloved Newcastle Knights, our own Lance Miles still enjoyed an unforgettable NRL Grand Final experience.

A lifelong Knights supporter, Lance was lucky enough to spend time with Newcastle legend Robbie O'Davis, one of the club's most iconic players and a member of the Knights' premiership-winning era.

We're not sure Lance has fully recovered from the result yet, but we're glad he had the chance to cheer the Knights on from the premium hospitality package provided by industry partners. 💙❤️

A huge congratulations to Jackson and Alana Stanmore on tying the knot and beginning this exciting new chapter together.

Jackson's journey with Hines Constructions began as a Carpentry Apprentice, progressing through the ranks to Foreman and now Site Manager. Through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities and challenges, he has continued to build an impressive career while also building a wonderful family along the way.

Jackson's commitment to personal and professional growth, combined with the support of Alana and their family, is something we're incredibly proud to see. As they celebrate this special milestone, we'd like to thank them both for their passion, commitment, and the positive contribution they make to the Hines team and wider community.

🏆 Team Member Spotlight | Zara Inwood

For more than seven years, Zara has been an integral part of the Hines Constructions team, providing administration, compliance, systems management, and project support that helps keep our operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

Zara recently represented Hines Constructions at the Master Builders Association Western Regions Excellence in Building Awards, proudly accepting the Best Use of Concrete Award for the Spooner Oval Grandstand, Forbes.

While the MBA award recognised outstanding concrete construction, we'd argue the real concrete is Zara. Holding everything together behind the scenes, keeping systems running, supporting projects, and somehow still finding time to lead the Social Club, she's a key part of what makes Hines Constructions tick.

Well done, Zara, and thank you for everything you do.

Exciting progress is underway at the Queanbeyan Basketball Centre, with the new expansion continuing to transform the facility. The latest milestone sees external wall panels now installed, giving a clear glimpse of the scale and shape of the new full-size stadium.

Once complete, the upgraded centre will feature a professional-grade sports floor, modern electronic sporting equipment, improved accessibility with an all-abilities lift, and a refreshed façade with new Colorbond cladding.

This significant community and sporting infrastructure project will help support the continued growth of basketball and recreation opportunities across the region.
