A devastating but timely reminder for us all about the importance of checking the smoke alarms in your home - our very own Josh Badcock (esteemed member of the David Dewhurst Electrical team) rushed to the support of his neighbours last weekend who had a devastating house fire. It has been a stark reminder for us all that it is absolutely imperative to have working smoke alarms in your house for your family's safety.

Have you thought about the hot summer weather that is just around the corner’ - ( yes !! Coming to a Place’ near You !?! )
It’s a good idea to give your Air Conditioning unit a run and most importantly service (mainly cleaning the indoor unit filters).
This is vitally important to ensure maximum air flow and consequently maximum efficiency from your ducted or split system Air Conditioner. Waiting till it’s 40 plus only brings disappointment and discomfort 🌞😅😡🤯😝
when you can’t get a service man that same day, and can be avoided by some forward planning.

Further to the Bird Damaged’ Cables post, it becomes very obvious how important circuit protection is inside your meter box or circuit breaker enclosure.
The latest type of combined earth leakage circuit breakers are now a requirement for new installations and upgrades on all final sub-circuits , with good reason when you see these damaged cables by birds and rodents create.
Old style fuses are not up to the job ‘ any more with the demands we put on the electrical systems and it’s really surprising that it doesn’t result in more house fires and damage. Most of the time it is sheer good luck that more disasters don’t eventuate!!
