This drainage pit had been installed too close to the building’s foundations, which was causing ongoing issues and had the potential to create further problems over time.

Our team relocated the pit to a more suitable position, ensuring proper drainage while protecting the integrity of the structure. A simple adjustment now can prevent costly repairs down the track.

If you’re experiencing drainage issues around your property, get in touch to see how we can help.

Another upgrade completed at this property with the installation of two new over-height close coupled back to wall toilets.

These suites not only give the bathroom a cleaner modern look, but the added height also provides improved comfort and accessibility for everyday use.

Another one of those “unexpected surprises” on site 👀

We were called out to a property where a new pool excavation had unfortunately gone straight through the existing sewer and water line supplying a second dwelling.

Situations like this can quickly turn into a major headache if not repaired correctly. We located the damaged services, carried out the necessary repairs and got everything back up and running to minimise downtime for the occupants.

A good reminder of why service locating before excavation is so important - especially on properties with multiple dwellings or older underground infrastructure.

If you’re planning excavation works, renovations or new installations, make sure your underground services are identified first 👍

A little while back, we had the opportunity to repair the flashings around this bell tower. It’s not the kind of job that comes along very often, so we were excited to take it on. We reckon the finished result came up a treat!

Rodents like mice and rats aren’t just a nuisance - they can cause serious damage to your home’s essential services.

Recently, we attended a job where rodents had chewed through both an electrical cable and a water hose. The electrical cable had been stripped back to exposed wires, creating a significant fire and safety hazard. Even worse, the damaged water hose had split completely, resulting in water flooding through the client’s kitchen while they were out.

This type of damage is more common than people think. Rodents are constantly gnawing to keep their teeth down, and unfortunately, plumbing hoses and electrical wiring are easy targets.

Risks include:
• Electrical fires from exposed wiring
• Major water damage from burst or leaking hoses
• Mould and long-term structural issues
• Costly emergency repairs

What to look out for:
• Unexplained drops in water pressure
• Damp patches or water where it shouldn’t be
• Tripped electrical circuits
• Signs of rodent activity (droppings, scratching sounds, nests)

Prevention is key:
• Seal entry points around your home
• Keep food sources secure
• Regularly inspect under sinks, behind appliances, and roof spaces
• Consider pest control if activity is suspected

If you notice any signs of damage or want peace of mind with an inspection, don’t leave it too late - small problems can turn into big ones very quickly.

Attended a property last week to sort out two downpipes that were causing issues.

• One join had completely failed and separated.
• The other had clearly been “repaired” at some stage… let’s just say it wasn’t winning any plumbing awards.

Both were discharging stormwater straight beside the house foundations.

This is exactly the sort of thing that gets overlooked — until it becomes expensive.

Water around foundations can cause:

🚫 Soil movement and cracking
🚫 Dampness and internal damage
🚫 Mould issues
🚫 Long-term structural concerns

And here’s the big one most people don’t think about — moisture attracts termites.
Termites love damp environments. If you’re consistently soaking the perimeter of your home, you’re basically rolling out the welcome mat.

Downpipes aren’t just bits of pipe on the side of the house. They’re part of your stormwater system and need to be properly sealed, supported and directed to the correct legal point of discharge.

Both downpipes are now repaired properly — no tape, no silicone band-aids, no “that’ll do” fixes.

If something looks a bit dodgy on the outside of your house, it probably is.

🚿 Hot Water Upgrade Done Right 🔧

We recently replaced an undersized instantaneous hot water system that simply couldn’t keep up with the demand of this large home.

With multiple kitchens, laundries and bathrooms all running off the one unit, the existing system was struggling — resulting in temperature fluctuations and inconsistent supply when more than one fixture was in use.

We removed the old unit and installed a new correctly sized instantaneous HWS, properly calculated to handle the number of fixtures and peak demand inside the property.

✔️ Consistent hot water
✔️ Reliable performance across all outlets
✔️ System sized to suit the home
✔️ Peace of mind for the owners

Correct sizing is critical when it comes to instantaneous systems — bigger homes need properly planned solutions to avoid performance issues.

If your hot water system can’t keep up, it might not be failing… it might just be undersized.
