Out with the old In with the new.

The owners of this rental property decided to have there switchboard upgraded. The existing board had compliance issues that required rectification regardless, but instead of a bandaid solution it was decided to completely replace.

The benefits of upgrading your switchboard can include-

Fault Isolation: One of the primary advantages of individual RCBOS is the ability to isolate faults. If a fault develops in one circuit, it won't affect the other unaffected circuits. This means that you won't lose power to large sections of the property.

No Fuse Wires to Replace: With individual RCBOS, there are no fuse wires to replace if a circuit is overloaded. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance and reduces the risk of electrical fires caused by faulty or outdated fuses.

Hey Everyone!

When was the last time you tested your RCDs (Residual Current Devices)? These devices are designed to protect you from electrical shock by quickly shutting off power when it detects an imbalance in electrical currents. However, like any device, they can become faulty or wear out over time.

Testing your RCDs is a quick and easy process that you can do yourself. Simply press the "test" button on your RCD and it should trip, cutting off power to the circuit. If it doesn't trip, it's time to get it checked by a qualified electrician.

Do you have old Halogen Downlights in your house as shown in the pics below? They're one of the leading causes of house fires and equate to a huge portion of your electricity bill aswell.

Get them upgraded to LED's for $66 each with 3 year warranty

*minimum 4

Note - Always make sure of these 3 things when getting you’re downlights changed.

1- Use a licensed and insured Electrician to protect your home insurance and it’s done legally

2- That the transformer and full light kit is replaced (not just the globes) as the transformer generate a lot of heat and can burn/catch fire

3- Make sure you buy your light fittings are from a reputable brand as many cheap led lights are flooding the market online that don’t meet Australian standards and can be dangerous

So in other words you get what you pay for when it comes to Led lighting

How good is this before and after pic of the premium ceiling fan upgrade. Supplied and installed for $400 with remote, led light and 2 years parts AND labour warranty with the manufacturer!

Note - Keep in mind these are top quality fans, not cheap fans that will begin rattling, wobbling and stop working within a year or 2. After installing many fans these are my go to.

Does your home switchboard look like the picture below with old fuses and no safety switches on all your circuits?

Old switchboards are one of the leading causes of house fires due to loose worn out connections which eventually get hot and melt.

Secondly if you don’t have new safety switches on all your power and lighting circuits there is no protection from electric shock for you and your family.
