Over 50 producers at Banana. What a turnout. 👏

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Newhaven for our Banana field day. The level of engagement, discussion, and willingness to share experiences made this one of our most valuable days yet.

With over 50 producers on the ground, the focus was clear....... practical erosion control, getting water back where it belongs, and building grazing systems that are more resilient and productive.

Seeing works in action after recent rain sparked some honest conversations:
✔ What’s working
✔ What we’d do differently
✔ What’s worth investing in moving forward

These are the kinds of discussions that drive real change across our landscapes, with Glenn Landsberg sharing his valuable practical and technical knowledge.

A big thank you to our hosts and everyone who contributed their knowledge. This is how we strengthen both our land and our community. Funded by the Integrated Engagement and Capacity Building Project through the Queensland Government Reef Water and Quality Program and delivered by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI). Thank you to Dawson Catchment Coordinating Association - DCCA for collaborating with us.

Two great workshops this week — and we’re not done yet. 🌱

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Goovigen and Banana this week. The turnout, conversations, and willingness to share what’s working (and what’s not) made both days incredibly valuable.

From practical erosion control to improving water flow and strengthening grazing systems, it’s clear there’s strong momentum across the region to build more resilient, productive landscapes.

It’s been especially encouraging to see producers getting hands-on, asking the right questions, and thinking about what these practices look like back on their own properties.

👉 Next stop: Wandoan – 26 March

We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation and building on what we’ve seen this week. If you haven’t joined us yet, this is a great opportunity to get involved.

What a day at Goovigen! 🌱

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a valuable and practical day in the paddock.

It was great to see landholders getting stuck into real conversations about erosion control, water movement, and what’s actually working on the ground after recent rain. These are the kinds of discussions that lead to better decisions and stronger, more resilient grazing systems.

From seeing erosion works in action, to sharing lessons learned (both wins and challenges), the day was all about practical outcomes you can take home and apply.

A huge thanks to our hosts and everyone who contributed their knowledge and experience. A big thank you to our presenter, Glenn Landsberg for sharing his knowledge. This is what building strong, connected agricultural communities looks like. Thanks to Dawson Catchment Coordinating Association - DCCA for collaborating with us.

Goovigen we are coming to you on 17 March, focused on designing local landscape solutions.....

Join us for a practical, hands-on field day focused on erosion management and landscape rehydration for grazing country, made possible thanks to funding from the Mary MacKillop Today Hyways

Hosted at The Tea-Holes, Goovigen on 17 March (8:30am–1:00pm), this fully funded event will explore achievable, on-ground solutions designed to strengthen productivity while protecting your soil and water resources.

Register here: https://forms.swiftfoxcrm.com/survey?t=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJzdXJ2ZXlJZCI6IjM1IiwidGVuYW50IjoiZGNjYSIsImtpbmQiOiJmb3JtIiwiaWF0IjoxNzcyNDkzNDIxfQ.wAYHGWsdJ6tsU9-ouJ02XCIa6ftoK7xi0ibnGxow7k4

Hear from John & Trudy Ramsey, proactive land managers who have owned The Tea-Holes since 2003, as they share their experience implementing recent erosion control works with Glenn Landsberg, Landsberg Landscape Restoration, on what initiated the project, how decisions were made, and what they’re observing so far.

✔ Identifying erosion issues & defining productivity outcomes
✔ Inspecting completed works and unpacking their design
✔ Practical surveying and planning approaches
✔ Machinery, budgets & working with existing infrastructure
✔ Clear next steps you can apply on your own property

Glenn will also provide insight into landscape rehydration principles and practical earthworks that slow water movement and build resilience.

Part of our three-event Soil First series across Wandoan, Goovigen & Banana.

This event is hosted in conjunction with DCCA, Dawson Catchment Coordination and supported by the Mary MacKillop Today Highways and Byways small grants program. This program provides small grants to community-led organisations, like DCCA, to support projects that bring communities together, reaching out to people socially and geographically isolated, strengthening community relationships and networks, caring for land, developing leadership, and empowering people to meet the challenges that confront them.

Wandoan – Practical Erosion Solutions You Can Actually Use

We’re kicking off our three-event series in Wandoan, showcasing a range of erosion repair trials and practical options you can apply on your own property.

If you’ve got active erosion, scalded areas, or country you’re unsure how to tackle next, this day will walk through a range of practical trials and approaches being used locally.

Led by Glenn Landsberg, Landsberg Landscape Restoration, with host landholders sharing their experiences, what they’ve tried, what’s working, and what they’ve learnt.

This is real paddocks, real decisions, and practical discussion.

🌿 CQ Connect Wrap-Up 🌿

What a fantastic day yesterday at CQ Connect, proudly brought to you by CQLA and RCS!

A huge thank you to our host Karen Smoothy for opening up her property and sharing such a raw and insightful presentation about her journey. 💬

We also appreciated the thought-provoking session from Tim Scott of K2 Organics on chemical-free options and integrated parasite management, plus valuable facilitation and RCS principles shared by Henry Hinds.

A great day of learning, collaboration, and a brilliant property tour at Karen’s — showcasing real examples of regenerative practices in action across Central Queensland. 🌾
