⚡️STOP burning money on hot water⚡️
Traditional electric hot water systems draw 3.6–4.8kW per hour
Running for up to 3 HOURS 😬
Now compare that to a 270L heat pump…

👉 Around 0.8kW per hour
That’s a massive drop in energy use

☀️ Pair it with solar + battery and it changes everything:
Heat your water using FREE solar energy

Store excess power in your battery
Use that energy to charge your EV

🚗 That means:
Less (or no) spending on fuel
Lower power bills
Serious long-term savings

👉 End game?
Minimal power bills
Minimal hot water costs
And drastically reduced fuel costs

⚠️ All dependent on having the right solar + battery setup
Thinking about upgrading?

Out with the old, in with the new. Progress video of our Faulconbridge project.

We replaced approximately 40 meters of stormwater line from the front yard to the street.

Now when it rains, it no longer pours.

35 metres. One failed system. Full replacement.
The existing front stormwater line was undersized and damaged in multiple sections — a ticking time bomb during heavy rain.
We’ve marked out the new trench line, completed excavation, and laid the new stormwater drain to handle the load properly.

Drainage isn’t exciting… until it fails. We make sure it doesn’t.

Heavy rain can quickly expose weakness in stormwater design.

On this job roof water was overflowing onto the veranda during intense rainfall.

We redirected the flow into the existing stormwater system to improve drainage and reduce future water issues.

🌧️ When the heavens open in the Blue Mountains… 🌧️

After all the rainfall we’ve had recently, the water levels on our local creeks and falls have been incredible — and it’s a great reminder of just how much water this region can experience.

Unfortunately, domestic stormwater drainage systems often struggle in these extreme conditions. Most homes are built with drainage sized to meet minimum code requirements — which is usually fine in normal rain — but not always for the big storms we’ve seen more frequently.

In the Blue Mountains, rainfall intensity and volume are above the national average, and older or undersized drains simply get overwhelmed. That can lead to:

✔ surface flooding
✔ backed‑up drains
✔ water pooling around foundations
✔ and property damage

If you’re noticing slow draining, water pooling, or gurgling pits after heavy rain, it’s often a sign your system can’t cope with the volume it’s being asked to carry.

💧 Stormwater & Drainage Tips:

Regularly clear gutters and downpipes

Check external drain grates for blockages

Consider larger capacity drains or soak wells if problems persist

Have a plumber inspect your system after storm events

Called out to a client’s property after they were hearing a loud hammering noise in the ceiling overnight.

After inspecting the system, we diagnosed the issue as a faulty hot water relief valve. On closer inspection, we also found the valve arrangement on the inlet line was non‑compliant, which was contributing to the problem.

We rectified the issue by:

Replacing the hot water relief valve

Replacing the PLV and duo valve

Installing a water hammer arrestor on the line as added protection

Noise resolved and the system brought back to a safe, compliant setup.

If you’re hearing unusual noises from your plumbing — especially at night — it’s often a sign something isn’t right and should be checked sooner rather than later.

Blocked sewer causing issues? That’s exactly what we were called out for on this job.

After clearing the line with high‑pressure water jetting, we carried out a CCTV inspection and found a broken section of pipe underground. We located the damaged area, explained the findings to the customer, and once approved, got straight to work.

Concrete was cut and removed, the damaged pipework replaced, and everything reinstated properly — including concreting back to finish.

Another sewer system repaired properly and ready for the long term.

If something doesn’t seem right with your drains, getting it inspected early can save a lot of hassle later.

Another leak found, fixed, and finished properly.

We had a call from a client who noticed water leaking from underground. After attending and inspecting their property, we located a burst water line beneath the concrete.

Our team efficiently removed the concrete, excavated down to expose the damaged section, repaired the burst pipe, and pressure-tested the line to make sure everything was running perfectly.
Once complete, we backfilled and reinstated the concrete—leaving the area neat, safe, and restored.

From leaks to full plumbing repairs, Hi Flo Plumbing has you covered.
