On Thursday we welcomed clients, colleagues and friends to the Premis Annual Ladies Lunch at Lennon’s Private Dining Room at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane.

One of the things we love most about this event is the opportunity to bring together an incredible group of women from across our industry, step away from the day to day and simply enjoy some great food, conversation and company.

This year we were very fortunate to have Catherine Fox AM join us as our special guest speaker. Catherine shared her insights and perspectives on leadership, gender equality and creating lasting change, giving us plenty to think about and talk about long after lunch had finished.

A huge thank you to Catherine, and to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon such a great one.

PROJECT COMPLETION: At Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Premis has delivered the refurbishment and expansion of the Level 6 Endoscopy and Procedural Suite, creating two new procedural rooms, recovery areas, sterile storage, reprocessing facilities and associated clinical support spaces.

Premis was involved from the early stages, initially undertaking demolition works to help inform the developing design and provide greater cost certainty before moving into delivery of the main works.

With adjacent procedure rooms remaining operational throughout construction, careful staging and coordination were critical. Clinical access, infection control, noise, dust, service shutdowns and the integration of new infrastructure all had to be managed around the hospital’s ongoing operations.

A progressive construction and commissioning approach allowed each stage to be completed, tested, cleaned and handed over while surrounding clinical areas continued to function.

It’s this understanding of live healthcare environments that comes from experience. Working closely with Mater, the consultant team, clinical stakeholders and specialist contractors, Premis was able to deliver the upgraded facilities while minimising disruption to the people working and receiving care around us.

A big thank you to Mater for trusting Premis to deliver this important project for the hospital.

A big milestone at Iona College!

Our tower crane is officially up and the new General Learning Area building is really starting to take shape.

There has been plenty of planning and coordination behind the scenes to get to this point, with the crane installation timed for the first day of the school holidays to minimise disruption across the campus.

The crane will now play a key role as construction progresses on the new four storey General Learning Area building.

A great milestone for the Premis team and an exciting one to see on site.

We’ll be sharing more as the project continues to take shape.

A new addition to the skyline at Iona College.

The tower crane goes in, marking another significant milestone as construction progresses on the new General Learning Area building at Iona College.

The four-storey development will deliver eight new General Learning Areas, two multipurpose learning spaces and a new canteen with commercial kitchen.

With the crane now operational, the project is moving into an exciting stage as the new building begins to take shape.

Delivering a major construction project within an active school environment requires careful planning and coordination, and our team continues to work closely with Iona College to manage the works safely while minimising disruption to students, staff and the wider College community.

We look forward to sharing more progress from site over the coming months.

PROJECT WIN | Kawana Private Hospital

Premis is pleased to have been appointed by Cura Day Hospitals Group to deliver a staged upgrade of the Central Sterile Services Department at Kawana Private Hospital.

Delivering these works within a live healthcare environment requires careful planning, with critical sterilisation operations needing to remain functional throughout each stage of construction. Detailed staging and close coordination with the hospital team will be key to keeping these essential services running while the works progress.

With extensive experience delivering projects within operational healthcare environments, our team understands the importance of managing construction around the people, processes and services that simply can’t stop.

We’re looking forward to getting underway and working with Cura Day Hospital Group and the wider project team.

PROJECT COMPLETION | Mental Health Anti-Ligature Stage 2

Congratulations to our project team on the successful completion of the Mental Health Anti-Ligature Stage 2 project for Metro North Hospital and Health Service.

Delivered across The Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Caboolture Hospital, the project involved the replacement and modification of more than 100 doors designed to improve patient safety.

Working across three operational hospitals required careful planning, coordination and communication, particularly given the sensitive nature of the environments and the importance of minimising disruption to hospital operations.

This project is another strong example of Premis’ experience delivering complex, safety-critical works within live healthcare environments.

A great result and a big thank you to our project team and everyone involved in its delivery.

About another week of demo before we move into civil works. Then things start moving quickly.

PROJECT WIN | Griffith University N34 Level 1 PC2 Laboratory

Premis is pleased to have been appointed to deliver the Design and Construct refurbishment of the N34 Level 1 laboratory facilities at Griffith University’s Nathan campus.

This technically demanding project will involve upgrades to the existing laboratories, services and finishes to achieve current PC2 microbiological and BC2 compliance requirements, enabling the facilities to be recertified with OGTR and DAFF.

Specialist laboratory environments require a high level of planning, coordination and attention to the technical requirements that underpin their operation. Our team will work closely with Griffith University, the consultant team and specialist contractors throughout the design and construction process to ensure these requirements are addressed.

We’re looking forward to getting underway and continuing our work with Griffith University.

A major milestone reached at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, with Premis completing the Level 7 component of this approximately $14 million healthcare upgrade.

Level 7 has seen the delivery of three new operating theatres within the hospital’s east wing, transforming the former ICU footprint into new clinical facilities.

Delivering these works within the upper levels of a fully operational hospital has required careful planning, staging and coordination, including craneage for the delivery and installation of key materials and equipment.

Works are continuing on Level 6, where Premis is delivering a significant expansion of the Endoscopy Unit, including two new endoscopy and procedural rooms, a new cleaning galley and upgraded recovery area. Once complete, the expansion will effectively double the size and capacity of the existing department.

A great milestone for the project team and another important stage delivered within a complex live healthcare environment.
