When Nelson City Council needed to construct a new waste sorting building within an existing landfill, soft ground conditions and prolonged wet weather added complexity to the project.

To address these conditions, the Geofabrics Geomesh rock wire mesh system was chosen to retain the raised building platform and accommodate the required wall height. In total, 750 wire mesh units were installed, along with 3,000 m² of Bidim Green A29 non-woven geotextile, which was used as a separation layer to support construction.

🏁🚚 Getting a Monster Truck show ready is all in a day’s work.

At Allianz Stadium, Bidim Green non-woven geotextile was installed over the turf in just half a day, followed by shock pads and dirt to create the track.

Once the event is over, the track is removed within approximately 72 hours, helping the turf recover and the field get ready for play again.

This temporary protection system allows major events to go ahead while preserving the surface for future sporting use.

🌱 What does long-term erosion protection look like?

Back in 2013, the City of Rockingham faced significant erosion along Kulija Road, where uncontrolled water flows from a piped outlet system were washing sand and soil down an 80 metre long slope.

To address the erosion, Geofabrics provided Grassroots synthetic erosion control mat as a permanent solution. The mat helped protect the soil from erosive water flows while allowing seeds to germinate and vegetation to grow.

When the site was revisited four years later, the results were clear. There was no erosion, and vegetation had successfully established and was thriving.
