This client came to us requiring a switchboard upgrade due to intermittent tripping. Over the years this switchboard had seen many haphazard & unsafe additions causing it to no longer be compliant. In addition to no further power tripping issues, this switchboard is now safe and AS:3000 compliant.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙙:
• Removed mis-matching breakers & replaced with Hager RCD combos, simplifying wiring and mitigating nuisance tripping
• Rewired meter panel to suit current energex requirements

The main upgrade for this switchboard was going from rewirable ceramic fuse holders, to RCD combos in order to meet current standards.

These outdated ceramic fuse holders can be easily rewired with the wrong gauge fuse wire, leaving your wiring unprotected and unsafe. For this reason, they must be replaced if any work is to be carried out on these circuits to maintain AS:3000 compliance.

It’s not uncommon for switchboards to look like this after years of additions & changes. This one was well & truly due for an overhaul after issues with circuits overloading after being combined due to a lack of room for additional breakers.

This one is now compliant to current AS3000 standards 👏🏼
