Hi all, ants seem to be an issue at the moment, I had a definite nest in a small suspended ceiling in a purpose built granny flat/space today in the Grange area and there were absolutely thousands of them coming out once the area was treated 🤦‍♂️

If you have had any recent (last cpl of years) building work done be aware that ants (as well other pests) will try to re establish themselves in their old areas and could become an issue down the track ✅

Be aware and please do reach out for any enquiries as they cost nothing 👌

Hi all, Long time and No Post 🤔

Look, now is a good time to be looking at ways pests get in and out as we are in the change of coldish to warmish weather etc ✅

Look at any gaps around doors and windows ( especially the door to the garage if that is the design of your home) as pests will get in the gaps around the garage door ✅

Don’t worry too much about rodents (rats) unless you are seeing/hearing evidence internally( poos etc) as evidence that they are around ✅

Have a look at potential entry points around the house and make sure they are closed , if you are not sure about how to deal with it, please do let me know 🙏

Hi All, I have a job to do next week who have had another (un Named) larger company attend 2 times.

The issue is ants and they are absolutely prolific at this particular property.

It appears that they are nesting in the walls of an en-suite and that means there is “Other” issues behind tiles and walls!

The agent has stated that the company who has treated has done 2 X “Sprays” and the company stated it’s the worst they have seen!

I did question “Sprays” as a spray alone is certainly NOT suffice for this type of issue, and it requires everything in the arsenal to deal with!

I would also say that those treatments were absolutely “Sub Par” on what is expected for this issue 🤔

An effective treatment would include a spray as well as pest specific gel and dusting to accessible areas including “Weep holes” externally to ensure a good thorough treatment.

It may also include an invasive (cutting holes in plaster walls in the affected areas) to be able to treat effectively ✅

So be aware that if Ants are coming out of wet area tiles and silicone joints, that it is definitely a problem and the chances are that the timbers behind the tiles/walls are wet and that’s what ants as well as termites love!
