297mm out of level! 😳

This is by far the worst leaning brick fence we’ve repaired.

Tree roots had caused significant movement to the footing, pushing the entire fence over — at its worst point, it was 297mm out of level. We’re surprised it was still standing!

To repair the fence, we excavated behind the affected sections, removed the pressure from the tree roots, carefully pushed the fence back into level, then underpinned and stabilised the existing footing.

The result — the original fence retained, straightened and stabilised without the need for a complete rebuild.

A great result and one of our biggest leaning wall repairs to date. 🧱

Brickwork Repairs at Robertson, Queensland.

The Problem: We believe the salt pool has caused some of the bricks to deteriorate over the last 40+ years.

The Solution: We cut out all the affected bricks and replaced with bricks that match the existing. We also cut out and repointed the affected mortar that has also deteriorated, using colour matched mortar to match existing.

Wall Crack Repairs at Mount Ommaney, Queensland.

The Problem: Hollow bricks used as a retaining wall. Standard clay hollow house bricks are not suitable as they lack the structural capacity to withstand lateral soil pressure.

The Solution: We installed our GSR system to reconnect and reinforce the affected areas that were cracking. To finish we patched rendered over the system and patched rendered/repaired the cracks to match existing.

Completed in 1 day.

Arch Repairs at Tewantin, Queensland.

The Problem: The arch had cracked due to subsidence in the area caused by trees too close to the house.

The Solution: First we braced the arch to keep it in place. We then installed our Rapid Set GoBar system which fully cures within 30 minutes. We then repointed using colour match mortar to match existing. We were able to take the prop away the same day using this method.

Underpinning at Sunnybank Hills, Queensland.

The Problem: The concrete foundation for the brick fence was less than 300mm deep causing the brick fence to subside. There is a power box near by so the builder chose not to go the full depth with the foundation.

The Solution: First we located the power so we knew where to avoid, it went straight under the pillar near the power box. Next we used lateral force to push the fence back to its original position. We then dug 600mm down and underneath the concrete foundation, we managed to get pretty close to the pillar with no disturbance. We then added reinforcing steel boxes for strength and filled the holes with concrete.

Pillar Repairs at Sinnamon Park, Queensland.

The Problem: The affected pillar had been hit by a car and unfortunately was too far gone for us to repair.

The Solution: We dismantled the pillar by removing each brick and individually cleaning. The cracked bricks were replaced with ones that match the existing. We went down to the concrete foundation which was still in excellent condition. Once the area was prepared we laid the bricks to match the existing and finished with a pier cap on top. The finish is a bagged rendered look hence the messy repointing. Once painted the pillar will blend in perfectly with the existing brickwork.

Leaning Fence Repairs at Auchenflower, Queensland.

The Problem: The block fence had not been core filled when built and invasive trees and bushes were planted too close. The fence was literally hanging on with just a single bracket anchored to one side of the hollow block fence.

The Solution: First we used our acroprops to brace the affected areas, next we cut the bracket and used lateral force to push the affected areas back to their original position. We installed our GoBar system to reconnect and reinforce the affected areas. To finish we patch rendered the affected areas to match existing.

Brickwork Repairs at Redland Bay, Queensland.

The Problem: We believe the mortar between the bricks had broken down due excessive water flowing into the affected area. This is most likely caused by poor drainage and water rising up through the brickwork.

The Solution: We removed all the loose bricks and cleaned them up. We also cleaned up the affected area before relaying the same bricks with colour matched mortar to match existing.b
