PROJECT | EV Charging Infrastructure

When an operational medical site purchased two EVs, EDC Systems QLD was engaged to design and install the supporting charging infrastructure.

The existing electrical system had limited capacity, so the new installation needed to accommodate the additional demand without affecting the site’s local critical infrastructure.

As NHP products were already used throughout the site, EDC worked closely with NHP during design, testing and commissioning. This allowed the client to maintain a consistent product line with local product support.

The works included new submains, a dedicated three-phase distribution board, cable support systems, final subcircuits, fire sealing and certification.

Cabling was installed between multiple levels and through high-traffic underground carpark areas, with safety spotters and clear communication used to manage the works around staff and site operations.

PROJECT | External Lighting Upgrade

EDC Systems QLD recently completed new pathway and landscape lighting at an education site to help improve visibility and safer access after dark.

With a new playground planned for the area, the EDC team identified that the electrical cabling needed to be installed before the playground works progressed and access to the cable route became restricted.

The completed works included new pathway lighting and uplights to three trees.

A straightforward project where early planning helped ensure the electrical infrastructure was installed at the right stage of the broader site works.

PROJECT | Underground Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade

EDC Systems QLD recently completed underground electrical upgrade works at an aged care site following multiple underground electrical faults and a loss of supply to several residents' homes.

The team first supported fault-finding and temporary supply works to help restore power, before completing an engineered replacement of the existing underground cabling.

The project included under-boring, new conduits, electrical pillars and upgraded cabling, with works carefully managed around existing services, driveways, landscaped areas and resident access.

A practical project focused on safety, continuity and reinstating reliable supply for the site.

For commercial electrical, maintenance and infrastructure support across South East Queensland, contact the EDC Systems QLD team.

PROJECT | Data & Communications

EDC Systems QLD recently completed structured cabling and fibre backbone works as part of a five-floor government office refurbishment in Caboolture.

The project included the supply and installation of a new Cat6A structured cabling system, with more than 1,500 Cat6A outlets installed across five floors.

The works formed part of a wider building upgrade, where existing ceiling-space services were removed and replaced to allow for new mechanical services equipment.

Delivered within a tight timeframe, the project reflects EDC’s experience in commercial data, communications and fibre optic works across office and government environments.

For commercial electrical, communications, fibre optic or maintenance support across South East Queensland, contact the EDC Systems QLD team.

PROJECT | Critical Environment Works

Following a small fire within a live medical laboratory, EDC Systems QLD supported a long-standing client with the safe isolation, remediation and reinstatement of affected electrical and communications infrastructure.

Working alongside emergency services, the EDC team quickly identified and isolated electrical hazards, helping crews safely access the site and manage the incident.

After the incident, our team remained on site to support the client, reinstate essential services and minimise operational disruption.

The works included electrical isolation and make-safe activities, infrastructure removal, temporary power and lighting solutions, site investigations and reporting.

EDC Systems QLD was then engaged to complete the new laboratory fit-out, including power, lighting, emergency lighting, AV cabling, Cat 6 data cabling, fibre optic infrastructure and temperature monitoring cabling.

For commercial electrical, communications, fibre optic or maintenance support across South East Queensland, contact the EDC Systems QLD team.

The EDC Office Ladies version of "Scary vs not Scary" 😀

SCARY 🫣
🔺 Having to share a 'fun fact' at the start of a meeting
🔺 Getting to work and forgetting if you turned off the hair straightener
🔺 When the tradies call and say their tablet has crashed and they didn’t save anything
🔺 When my boss gives a "👍" to my message instead of telling me I'm a queen and the best employee ever
🔺 Trying to decode the apprentices hand written notes
🔺 "I'll send that in later" and you know you'll be chasing it again soon
🔺 LinkedIn
🔺 The size of the spider in the ladies toilet

NOT SCARY 🥳
