It was a pleasure to be able to share Harriet House with the brisbane open house visitors on the weekend. A huge thanks to our wonderful clients and architecture advocates for agreeing to share their home with a bunch of fellow design enthusiasts. The renovation was completed 10 years ago and still looks great - and the garden is wonderful thanks to the clients green thumbs. A good example of the amenity and range of spaces you can achieve on a small lot when the site is not filled up with building.

That time of year again - Brisbane Open House is almost upon us and we are pleased to let you know that our Harriet House project is included this year. Our wonderful clients have generously agreed to open up their much loved house for tours for one day only - Saturday 18th July. If you are keen to see this playful but transformational reworking of a modest West End cottage please head to the Building Brisbane’s Cultural Capital website. Bookings open 12pm 24th June - be quick they go fast.

Always great to visit projects a few years after completion with the intended garden interface taking shape. In this case the entry which creates a special journey up from the street through a steep garden within a tight setback to the new front door. Creating a meaningful transition from the city to the inner sanctuary of the house is something we always consider.

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Caitlin McDonnell to Associate at Bligh Graham Architects. Over a span of nearly three years with our studio, Caitlin has become an integral member of the team. She is a Registered Architect equally at home in project design and delivery or business thinking. Her broad industry experience covers areas beyond residential, including aged care, multi-res, and urban planning. Clients note her professionalism and clear communication. Caitlin recently completed our soon to be released Sustainability Action Plan, and consistently contributes value to the exciting work we are privileged to do. Most important of all, she selects great tracks for the office radio! Congratulations and thanks Caitlin.
