Keeping with my tradition of having a Christmas tree made from random stuff, this year I created my ‘tree’ from green paint chips. For some reason, I have lots of green ones, even though very few of my clients ask for green 🤷‍♀️ Happy Christmas everyone!

New digs! My office has moved; it’s still above my favourite place just in a new location at 9 Tate Street, Albion. My signage is still to come, but it’s easy to find with the big Gym Cartel sign. If you are in the area, drop in to say hi. There are lots of great coffee shops and breweries in the area for a catch up.

Something a bit different to the previous cards. These are based on 2 favourite quotes by famous architects. I’m in the ‘less is more’ camp, but Christmas time often seems more about the second one. I’d be interested to know which way people lean.

I haven’t specified engineered stone for a while now, but it’s good to be reminded why, and to put pressure on the government to ban it. So incredibly heartbreaking for those suffering from silicosis, knowing there is no cure.
There are so many alternatives to this product, so if you are doing a new kitchen, check out what else is available!

It occurred to me not long ago that I have been in practice as Robyn Booth Architect for 25 years. Some days that seems like a really long time, other days, that time has gone in a flash………………I still love doing hand sketches, so here are a few from projects I’ve been working on over the last year.

What does your reception and waiting area say about you? What are you wanting to convey? Do you provide extras - refreshment area, kids’ play, tv to watch? These things and more are essential considerations when designing a medical suite. The reception creates the first impression, so is the place to spend time on the detail.

It’s Easter, so what better time to finally get back onto finishing Christmas bauble earrings 😂😏They are made from sterling silver and some fabulous Bauhaus Christmas ornaments (supplied by the friend I am making them for). The Christmas ornaments were originally designed in 1929/1930 and are attributed to the Bauhaus architect Johannes Gabriel.
