New photoelectric smoke alarms being fitted in one of our residential projects.
In Queensland, all new and substantially renovated homes must have interconnected Australian Standard Photoelectric Alarms in all bedrooms, hallways where bedrooms are connected and on every level of the property.
In the next 3 years these regulations will apply to dwellings that are being leased or sold and by 2027 they will be rolled out to all homes in Queensland!
The alarms installed here are MAINS VOLTAGE using a 9v BATTERY for BACKUP ONLY. Their interconnectivity means that if smoke is detected in one room, alarms will sound all around the home. This is a welcome change from the often neglected battery systems that still exist in many Aussie homes.
Please feel free to drop us a DM for more info on how the new regs will affect your property.
