We’re not posting this because we’re desperate for a leading hand.

We’re posting it because the right person is hard to find — and they’re probably not actively looking.

Mamet Homes is a small Brisbane residential builder.
Custom homes and lift-and-build-under projects.
We don’t cut corners, we don’t run on variation margins, and we don’t hire people we won’t actually invest in.

We’re looking for a leading hand carpenter who wants to be a site supervisor and, beyond that, a builder. Someone who is technically excellent, family-oriented, and genuinely hungry to keep building their capability.

Here’s what the role looks like:

50/50 — on the tools and off. You’ll coordinate trades, run sites, and mentor our apprentice under the direct supervision of our Project Manager. He has over 20 years of experience in commercial and residential construction. He’s a carpenter and builder himself. He’ll develop you properly.

No weekends. Full-time. Your time outside work is protected — for family, your own projects, whatever matters.

We’re part of the Mamet group, which includes BuildUp Australia — a peer-to-peer mentoring and development platform for the construction industry.
The pathway from leading hand to site supervisor to builder’s licence isn’t a vague promise.
It’s a structured framework that already exists.
We’ll back the right person through it.

The person we want is rare. Technically excellent, commercially curious, and thirsty for the next challenge. We’ll invest in them. We also know they have their own goals. Both things can coexist.
Experience in quality Architectural new homes and Lift and Build Under projects highly advantageous.

One non-negotiable:
We have international development projects starting in 2027. Some travel may be involved. A clean personal record is required — not a preference, a requirement.

Start: 4 weeks from now.
Rate commensurate with experience.
