GCE Contractors are proud to announce the award of the Microtunnelling Lorward Ave Bardon Stage 3 project for Brisbane City Council.

The project involves specialised trenchless construction works in Bardon, including the installation of underground pipeline infrastructure using microtunnelling methods within a complex residential environment.

Works include:

🚧 PROJECT PROGRESS UPDATE – TBM BREAKTHROUGH! 🚧

A major milestone has been achieved on our project in Adelaide, with the 1500 TBM successfully completing breakthrough.

With this stage now complete, installation of the carrier pipe is scheduled for early June as works continue progressing toward completion.

As works wrap up in Adelaide, the TBM will return to Brisbane for inspection and servicing before being prepared for future works. In parallel, the remaining tunnelling support equipment, including the MTS Control Cabin, pumps and associated equipment, will be mobilised from Adelaide to support our upcoming Bardon project.

At Bardon, the launch pit has already been completed and the team is now preparing for commencement of boring works in June using the MTS 800 TBM system.

Great work by all crews involved in reaching another key project milestone safely and efficiently.

Due to continued growth and new project awards, GCE Contractors is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Fitter to join our team.

This role will be based at our yard located at 123 Beatty Road, Archerfield, maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy machinery and equipment including excavators, trucks, dump trucks, and other plant & equipment.

𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬
To be considered for this position we are seeking the following skills and experience:

▪️Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Australian registered/recognised qualification required)
▪️Extensive experience maintaining and repairing heavy earthmoving plant and machinery
▪️Experience working on excavators, trucks, dump trucks, and associated civil construction equipment
▪️Sound knowledge of hydraulics, engines, transmissions and electrical systems
▪️Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
▪️Current driver's licence (HR licence preferred but not required)
▪️Ability to work independently and as part of a team
▪️Commitment to safety and delivering high-quality workmanship
▪️Full Australian working rights

Project Progress Update – Riverlea Stage 2, Adelaide SA 🚧

GCE Contractors continues to make strong progress on the Microtunnelling works for SRG Global at Riverlea Stage 2 in Adelaide.

Current progress includes:
▪️76m of 115m DN1500 RCJP enveloper successfully installed
▪️Equipment now mobilised for the subsequent 1290 carrier pipe installation

Our FIFO crew has continued delivering the works safely and efficiently, with the project showcasing GCE’s capability in trenchless construction and complex underground infrastructure delivery across Australia.

We look forward to continuing works alongside SRG Global and delivering another successful outcome.

🚧 New Project Awarded – Design & Construction of Trenchless & Trenched Pipework, Rockhampton 🚧

GCE Contractors is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Design & Construction of Trenchless & Trenched Pipework project for Fitzroy River Water, a business unit of Rockhampton Regional Council.

This significant infrastructure project will support critical sewer and water network upgrades throughout South Rockhampton and includes the delivery of complex trenchless construction works beneath the Bruce Highway, Queensland Rail and Aurizon corridors.

Project scope includes:
▪️ Detailed design services
▪️ Microtunnelling / pipe jacking works
▪️ Trenchless installation of major sewer and water infrastructure
▪️ 450m open trench pipeline construction
▪️ Trenched pipeline construction and testing
▪️ Installation of valves, chambers and associated infrastructure

Key works involve:
✅ 122m trenchless sewer main crossing beneath QR & TMR infrastructure
✅ 50m trenchless water main crossing beneath Aurizon infrastructure
✅ 450m open trenching works
✅ Installation of 500mm OD PE100 PN20 SDR9 HDPE carrier pipe
✅ Construction works supporting an 8.5km sewer rising main upgrade between Gracemere and South Rockhampton
