We recently completed the redevelopment of the Biloela Centre of Charity for St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland (Vinnies QLD).

Designed to better support the local community, the transformed facility brings a range of essential services together under one roof. The redevelopment features a larger Vinnies retail store, private counselling rooms, a community pantry and dedicated volunteer spaces—creating a modern, welcoming and accessible hub for the Biloela community.

We’re proud to have partnered with Vinnies Queensland to deliver a facility that will strengthen their ability to support the local community for years to come.

Last week we had the opportunity to participate as exhibitors for Dorrie Day at CQU Gladstone, and we had a blast!

Dorrie Day - which means "sticky beak" day - brings together First Nations communities, schools, service providers and local employers to connect, celebrate and explore training and employment opportunities.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect with students, school staff, community members and local organisations for some great conversations about the many career pathways and opportunities available in our industry.

There was plenty of hands-on fun too! Students stopped by our stand to try on the PPE and have a go with our toy crane. 🏗️

A great day filled with learning, meaningful conversations and a strong sense of community. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, got involved and had a sticky beak!

At Paynters, one of the most rewarding parts of our journey is recognising the people who make our success possible.

We're proud to celebrate a number of significant service milestones over the past 6 months, acknowledging the dedication, commitment and contribution each of these team members has made along the way.

🎉 10 Years – Matt, Sean & Wil
🎉 5 Years – Matt, Josh, Pat & Ciara

These milestones are a testament not only to the hard work and loyalty of our people, but also to the culture we've built together—one that values growth, opportunity, collaboration and long-term careers.

Thank you for everything you bring to the Paynters team. Your contributions have helped shape who we are today, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Congratulations on reaching these incredible milestones! 👏

Looking after your mates starts with a conversation, looking after yourself can start with a health check. That was our focus during this year's Men's Health Week, caring for our own and each others physical, mental, and social health.

This year's Men's Health Week included 65 Paynters team members taking on The Push-Up Challenge, pushing through sore muscles, busy schedules and plenty of friendly competition while completing an incredible 83,138 push-ups, raising almost $4,000 for mental health.

We kept the momentum going during our latest SEQ Site Staff Meeting with a continued focus on health and wellbeing. The meeting was kicked off with everyone receiving a TradeMutt shirt as a reminder to keep the conversations flowing and check in with those around them.

Our team was then joined by Ash from our alliance partner TIACS, and Caine Ansell from Ron Monaghan Foundation. Ash shared valuable insights around men's mental health, emphasising the importance of reaching out and accessing the free support services that are available, while Caine brought awareness to prostate cancer and the value of regular health checks.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in The Push-Up Challenge, donated and supported our Men's Health Week initiatives.

At Paynters, working across a range of sectors keeps us agile, adaptable and closely connected to the challenges our clients face.

The experience we gain in one sector often strengthens outcomes in another. A great example is the Beach House Hotel Hervey Bay, where we delivered a fire-related insurance reinstatement that included the addition and construction of the new Scarborough Bar on hotel’s second level. Now a welcomed addition to the local hospitality scene, the Scarborough Bar offers patrons the opportunity to relax with their favourite cocktail while overlooking the Hervey Bay Esplanade.

By combining our hospitality and insurance expertise, we're able to deliver practical solutions, quality outcomes and added value for our clients, their customers and the communities they serve.

Our General Manager of People, Brand & Communications, Sarah Rose, is currently on her second stint of parental leave. As a mother of two and senior leader at Paynters, Sarah understands firsthand the realities of balancing career, leadership and family life.

In her recent feature with NAWIC AUS's Parenting Out Loud series, she shares her experience navigating parenthood while building a meaningful career in construction. She also reflects on the importance of creating workplaces that support employees through different stages of life, challenge outdated assumptions, and enable people to succeed both professionally and personally.

The construction industry has made significant progress in supporting working parents, but there is still more work to do. By sharing stories like Sarah's, we can continue important conversations about flexibility, inclusion, leadership, and the role employers play in retaining talented people throughout their careers.
