Finished off a little solar and battery system today in doonan.

9.96kw of solar on the roof into a hybrid inverter/battery cabinet with 14kwh of battery storage.

These systems come with a 10 millisecond automatic changeover switch to power a back up system for lights, fridges and water pump if the power is to go out. They also come with relays built in to send excess power generated to things like hot waters and pool pool pumps.

Below is information on government assistance for anyone who may not be insured and has had essential services affected but the recent floods. If we can help let us know.

Essential services safety and reconnection grant
If you’re uninsured, or unable to claim insurance, you may be eligible for a grant to help you reconnect essential services that were damaged by a disaster.

There are 2 parts to the grant:

Inspection: up to $200 towards a safety inspection for each essential service needing reconnection (electricity, gas, water and sewerage or septic system)
Repair: up to $4200 towards repair work to enable essential services to be reconnected (for example, electrical rewiring).
Eligibility

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:

live in a disaster affected area where this grant is activated
be the owner or mortgagee of the home
be uninsured or unable to claim insurance to replace or repair your essential service/s
qualify under the income test (below).

Financial assistance for people in activated disaster areas to help reconnect essential services such as electricity, gas, water and/or sewerage/septic systems.
