🚧 Project in progress: Caloundra Gardens Retirement Village extension, Little Mountain

We're building two major sandstone retaining walls for this extension to the Caloundra Gardens Retirement Village on Mark Rd West. The site slopes from Caloundra Road down to Mark Rd West, so every new dwelling sits on its own terrace — and that means some serious retaining work.

The upper wall (closest to Caloundra Rd) retains several adjoining properties and is being built in interlocking sections up to 4m high. Once that's done, we move on to the big one: a 5m+ sandstone wall running east-west across the middle of the property.

Sometimes jobs call for a little bit of problem solving, like this project where a concrete sleeper wall needed to be tied in with a sandstone retaining wall.

The sandstone blocks were niched to fit in front of the concrete sleeper post to prevent gravel and back filling to fall through the join.

The weather hasn't been the kindest to us lately, however we have managed to start a job at Kilcoy collaborating with our mates at TerrainX Landscapes again to complete a few retaining walls and earthworks.

We're prepping a concrete sleeper retaining wall just over 2m high here, hence the need for our auger extension (not sure I've ever seen this one in action!) to get the required post depth.

Much more to come on this job with a sandstone retaining wall and another concrete sleeper retaining wall as well as general earthworks.
