We're not getting a lot of help from the rain on this one. Machinery, sandstone blocks, sandstone rocks, concrete channels and hardwood head walls along with the hard-working crew.. if only the rain would leave us alone

We usually don't like to post progress shots on a build as the magic is often only seen the end product but the boys are really excited about this one. Day one on the waterplay area / creek bed on our latest project following on from last week's post.

Getting the ball rolling on another Early Learning Centre project. Scope of works includes soft landscaping with garden construction including tree planting, artificial grass and softfall areas, shade sales, natural rocky creek, bike paths, feature fencing, climbing structures, drainage, waterplay area, mud kitchens, sand pits… And the list goes on

As well as all elements of structural landscaping, we also do soft landscaping as well. This is a recently completed garden area around the pool for a North Harbour site. The overall job also include an elements of retaining and also timber decking.

Installing a new system in a water front park at Bribie Island. Installing in pure sand is great for hand digging but unfortunately when trenching the sides do not hold together so once again here we are having to use a 350 mm wide bucket to install 40 mm pipe with constant cleaning out by hand due to caving in. At least the view is good.

Face Lift Landscapes undertake all types of fencing. This is a recently completed timber paling fence to provide some security at a commercial premises. The palings were gapped at 25 mm spacing so that behind the fence was still visible.

At Facelift Landscapes we pretty much do anything outdoors. Structural and soft landscapes including lawns and gardens, decks and other forms of timber work, stonework, retaining walls,  irrigation systems pumping and drainage and everything in between.

Starting out doing a greenkeeping trade our company director has had a really hard time over the years having to accept the amount of artificial grass we do and it is quite extensive.

So here are a few pictures from a recent commercial project where the front lawn at the business will now look 100% 365 days a year.

This job certainly has given me a little more stress than I was hoping to have going into the Christmas break, especially on top of our regular workload.

So now it is completed this is an appreciation post to our staff, Patrick, Semi, Brooklyn and Jeremiah.

The job started later than it was supposed to throwing everything else we had organised and all of our regular work into turmoil and certainly caused one hell of a juggling act.

The photos are not doing justice to the finished product and it looks like I have a cracked lens on my phone camera but I'm posting anyway.

In less than 3 1/2 weeks we have stripped garden areas, imported over 80 m3 of soil to shape mounded gardens, installed an extensive fully automatic irrigation system, installed over 1800 plants and trees and only had one plant to die on us (testament to the quality of the irrigation system), installed 40m³ of mulch and the deco area. All on a construction site that had trades tripping over each other to get their work done by the due date.

Having just done the defects inspection with the client, the architectsand council project staff the general consensus and comments being made were -

"Looks fantastic.
Really good job.
Very high-quality work
Couldn't be happier"

And although this was a specified fully architect desiged job there were many elements where we were left to our own devices in terms of shaping and a few other things, where once again there was positive comment on what we had come up with.

Why am I rambling on - because I'm bloody proud of what the guys have done, good work boys I guess I you all lunch at the surf club next door.

An earthy experience. Simple but effective.

Constructing a decomposed granite path for a Scarborough client. The decomposed granite has been ordered with aluminium linkage featuring flowing curves and mixed with cement in order to provide a natural looking yet hardened pathway as part of a larger project for this client.
