Noticed stains, marks or discolouration in your pool over winter?

Now is a good time to have them checked before the weather heats back up and swimming season gets busier.

Pools can still turn green in winter — especially here in Cairns 🌿

Even though the weather is cooler, our winters are still warm and humid enough for algae to grow if your pool is not getting enough chlorine, circulation or filtration.

Some common winter green pool causes include:

• Pump run time reduced too much
• Chlorinator output set too low
• Leaves and debris sitting in the pool
• Dirty or blocked filters
• Weather affecting water balance
• Poor water circulation

A green pool often starts gradually, with the water looking a little dull, cloudy or off-colour before it becomes noticeably green.
