Project Update // Noah Creek Bridge

A major milestone has been reached on the Noah Creek Bridge project, with the temporary bypass now complete and open to traffic.

With vehicles successfully transitioned onto the bypass, our team has commenced the next stage of works, including demolition of the existing bridge and construction of the new crossing.

The new bridge will replace an ageing structure that has been operating under a 16-tonne load limit, improving reliability and supporting long-term access for residents, visitors, freight operators and emergency services travelling north of the Daintree.

Working within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area presents unique challenges, and our team continues to work closely with stakeholders while maintaining strict environmental and erosion control measures throughout construction.

Recently, our SEQ team came together to celebrate the people who bring HEH Civil's values to life every day.

The HEH Civil SEQ Awards 2026 recognised employees who demonstrate teamwork, commitment, leadership and a willingness to support those around them. With award recipients voted for by their peers, the recognition made the occasion even more meaningful.

We also took a moment to remember Darren Jones, a valued member of our SEQ team whose positive attitude and contribution left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Darren was due to receive the Rising Star Award and will always be remembered as part of the HEH Civil family.

PROJECT COMPLETION // Peninsula Developmental Road Yarraden to Three Sisters (Part A), portion 1.

We’re pleased to share the successful completion of works on the Peninsula Developmental Road between Yarraden and Three Sisters.

This project, delivered in remote and challenging conditions with Transport and Main Roads Queensland, has transformed red dirt into sealed road, improving safety, reliability, and access for Cape York communities, and strengthening regional connectivity.

A heartfelt thank you to the local communities for their patience and support throughout the project. Your cooperation has been invaluable in helping us construct this important upgrade.

And to our dedicated team, contractors, and client, congratulations on a job well done. This achievement is a testament to strong partnerships and teamwork.

BuildCAIRNS – BLA Careers Expo 2026

We had a fantastic day at the BuildCAIRNS Careers Expo on 4 June.

HEH Civil loved connecting with so many students and showcasing careers in civil construction. From surveying demonstrations to our “Spot the Safety Hazard” activity, there was great energy and engagement all day.

A big thank you to for supplying the 8T excavator, a highlight for many students getting their first hands‑on experience.

Even better, we’ve already secured a work experience placement and had several students express interest in future opportunities with us.

Events like this play a key role in building the next generation of our workforce.

Project Announcement // Intersection Upgrade, Bundaberg West

HEH Civil has commenced construction works at the Branyan Street and Crofton Street intersection, having been appointed by Bundaberg Regional Council as Principal Contractor.

Funded through the 2025–26 Australian Government Black Spot Program, the project will deliver a new roundabout, raised pedestrian crossings and upgraded street lighting to improve intersection safety and awareness.

Today, we pause to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of those who served our nation.

This ANZAC Day, we pay tribute to the relatives of our Survey Manager, Scott Collingwood, and acknowledge their military service across two world wars:

Norman Clyde Collingwood, who served on the Western Front during World War I with the 9th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force (AIF).

Anthony Austen Collingwood, who served during World War II in the Middle East, New Guinea and Borneo with the 2/9th Battalion, 2nd AIF.

We remember their courage, service and sacrifice, and we extend our respect to all Australian and New Zealand service personnel, past and present.

Lest we forget.
