Another year is done, and what a year. From the Covid shutdown at the start to one of the busiest years ever. We are now closed for Christmas and New Year, and will reopen on January 5. If you have a job that has been started and waiting on parts, sorry the parts did not arrive before we closed, I will get to you first in the new year. H & T Electrical NQ (Cairns) is looking for a qualified electrical tradesperson to join our expanding team.

This role mainly involves working alone, with phone support from our team. It includes driving between jobs, primarily repairing domestic electrical appliances in customer’s homes and businesses. Experience in appliance repairs, fault finding, domestic wiring and maintenance would be highly regarded. Additional ARC Tick Refrigeration license is an advantage.

An ability to work overtime when required, well presented and enjoy working as part of a team is essential. Uniforms, phone and van supplied.

Skills to excel in this role:

• Appropriate qualifications and licencing (Trade Certificate & QLD Electrical Licence);
• Current drivers license (manual);
• Construction industry white card;
• Excellent customer service;
• Ability to work in accordance with relevant systems, policies and procedures;
• High attention to detail;
• Ability to work autonomously, and cohesively in a team environment;
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills;
• Great customer service and communication skills; and
• Professional references are essential.

If you have a Samsung top loader it’s definitely worth checking if it is in the affected model list. Contact Samsung and advise them if you do. If your machine is part of the recall they will replace it with a new one.

Completed an extensive LED upgrade at Effigy Hair Studio this week. We replaced old, dull recessed fluorescent lights with new 12 watt LED down lights. Even though we more than doubled the amount of fittings the new lights will save the salon approximately $1350/year in electricity costs.
