What a busy year it has been. PFS management of a large magnetite project in Canada, lots of travel, Value-in-Use modelling, and a swag of thermodynamic model development.
In calibration phase now are a straight-grate pellet plant model, a two-stage blast furnace model, a non-thermal drying model and a direct reduction model.
The existing models work just fine, but there are always improvements to be made. I am particularly interested in using the new direct reduction model suite functionality , which will account for Midrex, Pered and Energiron modules on a range of fuel sources, natural gas, coke oven gas, hydrogen and everything inbetween, with a dedicated carbon capture module.
