Sydney-you didn't disappoint!

We have three 50m+ international superyachts visiting Sydney over the coming months, so it was a rewarding couple of days catching up with industry partners and getting out on the water to experience what the destination has to offer.

From the sweeping iconic views at Jones Bay Wharf to the home port of Australia's largest superyachts at Sydney superyacht Marina to cruising Pittwater, the Hawkesbury River and Broken Bay with Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay - it was a great opportunity to see the region from a visiting yacht’s perspective and understand how we can best showcase it to our clients.

It was great to be part of this conversation and to see Sunshine Coast Council showing its support for the Brisbane 2032 Marine Project.

The Sunshine Coast has so much potential as a superyacht destination, and increased visitation could bring real benefits to local marine businesses, tourism operators, marinas and the wider community.

It is really encouraging to see more councils across Queensland getting behind the project and recognising the long-term opportunities for our industry.

Sunshine Coast Council has indicated its support for the Brisbane 2032 Marine Project and will look to advocate for the project to the State Government. The commitment follows a meeting between Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli, Cr Joe Natoli, Council Economic Development Manager Angela Lisle and Brisbane 2032 Marine Project Manager Stephen Joyce. They were joined by Captain Gordon Scott and local marine agent Sarah Toxward, General Manager of Carter Marine Agencies.

The meeting focused on the opportunities the project presents to the Sunshine Coast, including examples of vessels currently cruising the region that could stop on the Sunshine Coast and the economic benefits this visitation would bring.

The Sunshine Coast joins a growing coalition of Queensland councils supporting the project, including the City of Townsville, Cairns Regional Council, Whitsunday Regional Council, Mackay Regional Council and the City of Gold Coast. In addition, the project has the backing of the Northern Territory Government.

Wow-where did those 6months go! It has been a pleasure supporting this 50m Superyacht across three very different Australian port from the iconic Jones Bay Wharf Superyacht Marina in Sydney, to the beaches of the Gold Coast at Southport Yacht Club Mega Yacht Berth and then an owners trip to the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns Ports North

Throughout your time in Australia, your visit contributed to a wide network of local marine businesses, service providers, contractors, suppliers, marinas and regional communities. From clearance formalities and port support to freight, logistics, provisioning, crew assistance, contractors, berthing and everything in between, it has been a privilege to play a part in keeping the many moving pieces running smoothly.

A sincere thank you to the Captain and crew for trusting us to look after you. You have been an absolute pleasure to work with, and without doubt one of the most professional crews we have had the privilege of supporting.

Fair winds and safe seas to you all and yes your plant will be well fed and watered here in our office!

It was a real honour for Carter Marine Agencies to be awarded Service Provider of the Year by Superyacht Australia at the recent Superyacht Industry Awards.

This recognition means a great deal, as so much of what we do happens quietly behind the scenes supporting captains, crew, owners, marinas, shipyards, suppliers and government agencies to help make each yacht visit to Australia run as smoothly as possible.

A sincere thank you to Superyacht Australia, our industry partners, and every captain, purser and crew member who continues to trust Carter Marine Agencies.

Last week I was in Auckland connecting with our Kiwi counterparts, including fellow agents, the crew from Auckland city marina and Orams shipyard, yacht crew trainers, recruiters, and both existing and new yacht captains.

One thing that became clear to me, is that if we want to attract and retain more superyachts down to the South Pacific, we must operate as a connected network, sharing knowledge, aligning our standards, and delivering a seamless experience across every country. That way they continue to see our destinations as safe and supportive.

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon to say farewell to one of our favourite explorer yachts after a 4 month stay in Australia. Some great projects and maintenance completed at Rivergate Marina and Shipyard and The Yard Brisbane

After 16 months in Australia, it was a long farewell to one of our favourite clients, Captain James and the crew from MY Akiko.
Always a pleasure watching their footage of manoeuvring into the DYT Yacht Transport lift ship here in Brisbane.

Moreton Diving & Marine Contracting for safely securing these vessels for their onwards journey to the USA and Palma.

There is nothing more iconic than arriving in Australia sailing under the Sydney harbour bridge.
A seamless clearance into Jones Bay Wharf thanks to Sydney pilots, ABF, Biosecurity, and of course Scott Cotton and his team of friendly professionals.

The Captain and crew of this 50m were welcomed with a selection of cold Aussie beers and chilled wine to enjoy after their long crossing from Carter Marine Agencies- Australia
