From 1 January 2027, all homes in Queensland including houses, townhouses, units, and manufactured homes, are required to have installed compliant interconnected hard wired or non-removable battery photoelectric smoke alarms. Essentially, this means replacing any older ionisation alarms with new photoelectric models that meet Australian Standards AS 3786-2014.
