⚠️ This homeowner had no idea there had been a fire event on their roof.

We were recently called out after the client noticed their solar system had stopped generating properly ☀️

Upon inspection, we discovered a failed rooftop PV isolator that had completely overheated and melted away.

The system had remained on the roof, out of sight, until the drop in solar production raised concern.

While rooftop isolators were once standard across many solar installations, they sit exposed to years of harsh UV, moisture, temperature changes, and weather — and like any electrical equipment, deterioration can occur over time if systems aren’t properly maintained.

As part of the repair, we removed the failed rooftop isolator and installed compliant PV string disconnection points at the solar array instead, while also proactively removing the second rooftop isolator to help prevent the same issue occurring on the remaining string 🔧

☀️ Just because your solar system is out of sight doesn’t mean it should be out of mind.
