Every panel goes through three completely different stations before it's ready to assemble. First the CNC bores every connector hole and cuts the groove that lets everything sit flush. Then it's through the edge ba**er for a finished edge. Last step — the connector gets hammered straight into place.

For years we ran off a bench built from scraps and offcuts lying around the shop. It did the job. The new one has a solid steel frame, an MDF top, and wheels underneath so it moves wherever it's needed — built for making more cabinets than ever.

Stop using screws for your drawer boxes. Use these instead.

Lamello Cabineo — the pocket gets machined on the CNC, the connector taps straight in, screws in from inside the joint, and the whole box locks up square with nothing showing on the outside. No caps, no plugs, no visible fixings on the finished piece.

Slower to machine than running confirmats? Yep. Worth it? Every single time — the joint's stronger, it's square off the machine, and on high-end work you're paying for clean surfaces, so that's what we build.

This is what goes into every drawer and tray that leaves our workshop.

A quick run-through of the Cabineo connectors we use when building our Blum Australia Pty Ltd Movento drawers and trays.

The pockets come straight off the CNC, the fitting sits fully inside the joint, and everything locks together internally — no screws, no caps, no visible fixings anywhere on the finished piece. Just clean, uninterrupted surfaces.

It's a system we lean on for the special trays in our high-end wardrobe builds, where every visible detail matters. Machine it right and the finish speaks for itself.

polytec Plantation Ash exterior, black carcasses with black Blum Legrabox drawers — full blackout inside — plus integrated LED lighting. It's the details you only see when you open the drawer that separate custom joinery from flat-pack, and this combo is one of our favourites we've done.
