You’ve all been either very impatient… or just very excited to see the finished result 😂

Well, the wait is over

The cork floors are DONE! 🙌

But what we’re even more excited about is achieving an incredible 1.3 ACH50 air permeability result on the blower door test! 💨🏠

This result is a real testament to the effort, attention to detail and care that the whole team puts into delivering high performing homes for our clients.

And the best part? This was achieved using the plasterboard layer as our primary airtightness layer. No complicated airtightness membrane system just bloody good detailing, bloody good trades and everyone understanding what we’re trying to achieve.

It proves what can be accomplished when the whole team buys into the process and takes pride in getting the little details right.

Great homes aren’t just about what you can see it’s what’s happening behind the finishes that makes the difference. 👌

Bit going on at the moment at our Chapman reno + addition! 🔨

The boys are hooking in and really getting this one moving.

Like most renos we take on, there are always a few little hidden secrets waiting behind the plasterboard. The old boys who originally built these homes certainly liked to keep us on our toes 😂

Nothing we can’t work through though, that’s all part of renovating and bringing these older Canberra homes back to life.

Plenty happening on this one, with plenty more to come. Stay tuned! 👌

Natural materials like stone and timber just have a special feeling about them.

They’re incredibly versatile and can be used in so many different ways throughout a project. Inside, outside, as a feature or simply as part of the small details throughout.

They bring warmth, texture and character to a home that manufactured products just can’t replicate. And the best part is, no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Yes, natural materials require a bit of maintenance over time… but so does everything!

For us, the character, warmth and feeling they bring to a home makes it all well worth it

TIPS FROM THE BUILDER 🔨

When you’re planning your new home, renovation or extension, stick to your guns on the things you won’t compromise on.

At the end of the day, it’s your home, your money and a massive investment. Don’t be afraid to make it yours.

On one of our current projects, our clients haven’t been afraid to bring their personality into the home. Colour, feature lighting, wallpaper… and then even more colour. And we absolutely love seeing their vision come to life.

Black, white and grey will always have their place, but your home doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

Bring some flavour. Bring some personality. Build a home that feels like you.

My mum always used to say to me:

“Simo, whatever you do in life, make sure you enjoy it. Have fun doing it, laugh every day, and surround yourself with like-minded people.”

Amen, Mum. ❤️

Those words have stuck with me, and they’re a big part of why we’ve built Aspect Building Projects the way we have.

Content days are just as much fun as building days. What you see on socials is only a small part of it. The laughs behind the camera, the banter, the ideas, and a crew that genuinely enjoys turning up every day.

The dream team is back together, and we’re about to bring a very special heritage project to life.

The Tocumal Home.

It’s been a long journey getting this one ready to start, but we’re excited to finally be on site.

A huge shoutout to Canberra Architect I Neighbourhood , who absolutely nailed the design brief. Their understanding of the Tocumwal heritage requirements, combined with a strong focus on energy efficiency, made them the perfect fit when our clients approached us to transform their home.

This project is all about respecting the home’s history while creating a healthier, more comfortable place to live. We’ll be carefully restoring its heritage character, seamlessly integrating a thoughtful addition, and delivering a home that performs exceptionally well for decades to come.

This is exactly the kind of project we love.
