Project Update | Bowylie Accommodation Village

The new 200-bed accommodation village supporting the Woodlawn Copper-Zinc Mine has surpassed the 50 per cent mark.

Not long ago this was a greenfield site. Since then, our team has delivered the enabling works, created a construction-ready platform and begun installing the accommodation buildings, with central facilities, utilities and supporting infrastructure all part of the delivery.

As Design & Construct Head Contractor, YARA is managing the project from design development and approvals through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Pushing past the halfway point on a project of this scale comes down to the dedication of the people on site every day, together with a client and project partners who work alongside us as one team. Thank you.

Project Update | Bowylie Accommodation Village

A major milestone has been reached on another YARA Co project.

As the Design & Construct contractor, YARA is delivering the new 200-bed accommodation village to support the Woodlawn Copper-Zinc Mine, managing the project from design development and approvals through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Having successfully delivered the enabling works package that transformed the greenfield site into a construction-ready platform, our team is now leading the next phase of delivery with the installation of the first accommodation buildings.

The arrival of these buildings marks a significant step forward and provides the first real glimpse of the scale of the completed village. As Head Contractor, YARA continues to coordinate the delivery of accommodation, central facilities, utilities and supporting infrastructure as this landmark project takes shape.

We look forward to sharing further progress as construction continues.

Not every project can be shared in detail, but the outcomes speak for themselves.

Our team recently delivered rehabilitation and maintenance works on approximately 12 kilometres of unsealed roads within a secure operational precinct, improving access and network performance for site users.

Operating in environments where planning, safety, and coordination are critical, we focus on delivering reliable infrastructure with minimal disruption and lasting value.

The successful completion of this project reinforces YARA Co's capability to deliver civil infrastructure works in highly regulated and operational settings.

The YARA Co team completed a specialised concrete remediation package within the National Gallery of Australia's Stormwater Retention Tank, working inside a confined space with restricted access to restore structural integrity and extend the asset's service life.

The scope included hydro demolition at 20,000 psi to remove a defective waterproof membrane and deteriorated concrete, treatment of exposed reinforcement, placement of a low shrink concrete topping,
and reinstatement of the waterproof membrane system.

Restoring critical infrastructure where access is anything but simple. Every stage required careful planning, precision, and strict adherence to safety protocols, demonstrating the team's capability to deliver complex remediation works in challenging environments.

Throwback to a proud moment for YARA Co — giving young Wiradjuri artist Jayden McLachlan the opportunity to design and paint "Our Future," the artwork that now represents who we are.

Backing young First Nations talent is something we care about, and Jayden's work is a reminder of why. The piece tells a story of strong leadership, future generations, and community supporting community, with handprints and footprints marking the impact we hope to leave behind.

Grateful to Jayden for bringing this to life, and proud to keep giving young artists and young leaders the platform to do the same.

The Bowylie Accommodation Village – Civil & Earthworks Project is now complete, transforming a greenfield site into a fully serviced platform for a 200-room accommodation village supporting the Woodlawn Copper-Zinc Mine near Tarago, NSW.

Delivered for Develop Global Limited, the project involved bulk and detailed earthworks, building platforms, roads, car parks, drainage infrastructure, retaining structures, and primary access works. Thanks to strong planning, collaboration, and coordination across all teams, the project was delivered efficiently and built to support the mine's operations well into the future.

A great result made possible by everyone involved.

This year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," celebrates 50 years of NAIDOC as a nationally recognised week, honouring the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

To mark NAIDOC Week, our team gathers at Ngamawari for a toolbox talk led by Andy Muirhead, Managing Director of YARA Co. and a proud Aboriginal man from Barunggam Country. Andy shares the history and significance of NAIDOC Week, encouraging us to continue learning, listening and celebrating Australia's oldest continuing living cultures.
