Right now, it’s the start of the decking around the pool.

Soon it’ll be wet footprints, towels over chairs, afternoon drinks, kids asking for “five more minutes” and everyone pretending they’re not getting back in.

Outdoor areas aren’t just an extra part of the build up here. In the Whitsundays, they’re where so much of life actually happens.

A truckload of six-metre beams has arrived, ready to form the base of the new decking around the pool.

This is the stage where an empty outdoor area starts becoming something the whole family will actually use — summer afternoons, wet footprints, outdoor dinners and plenty of time spent beside the water.

There’s a fair bit of work between this load arriving and the finished result, but the vision is definitely starting to come together.
