๐จ If a fire started tonight, would every smoke alarm in your home go off?
Most older homes still have standalone smoke alarms. The problem? If one alarm activates, the others may stay silent.
We recently upgraded this Brisbane home with a new interconnected smoke alarm system, meaning when one alarm detects smoke, they all sound throughout the home ๐ฅ๐ก
For this installation, we:
โ๏ธ Removed outdated, non-compliant smoke alarms
โ๏ธ Installed 3 new Emerald Photoelectric Smoke Alarms
โ๏ธ Added wireless interconnection (one goes off, all go off)
โ๏ธ Installed a wall-mounted hush/test station for easy testing
โ๏ธ Tested the entire system for correct operation
โ๏ธ Issued a Form 12 Certificate confirming compliance
The best part? We were able to use the existing wiring, avoiding the need to run new interconnect cables through the home.
Queensland's 2027 smoke alarm requirements are getting closer, but more importantly, your family deserves the earliest possible warning in an emergency.
