That’s an official wrap on our Construction with Purpose initiative at the TUH Carpark 17 Extension project in NQ, and what an incredible outcome!

We originally set out with a target of $10,000, but thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our team, site crew, subcontractors, and community, we more than tripled our goal to raise over $32,000 for Ronald McDonald House North Australia.

Most importantly, this incredible effort means we are fully funding 6 rooms for a whole year, giving 6 families of sick kids a safe home away from home when they need it most.

A massive driver of this success was our site raffle, where ticket sales poured in thanks to our generous partners who supplied over 12 high-ticket prizes ranging from drones, GoPros, and Weber BBQs to welders, power toolkits, and vouchers. That raffle energy was backed by Shamrock Civil’s hour-matching commitment of over $10,500 for man-hours worked on site, along with generous direct portal donations. To top it all off, we brought the campaign home at our final project BBQ by auctioning off a framed, signed NQ Cowboys jersey to push our total way over the finish line.

A huge thank you to our incredible subcontractors and sponsors who made this possible: Peak, ATCO, Flexihire, BMW Surveyors, Pennrite Constructions, Construction Sciences, Mundey’s Contractors, Bunnings Warehouse, Top Gun Civil Plant & Equipment, Milwaukee Tool, Holcim Concrete & Quarries, Konnect, Total Tools, and Vision Intelligence.

Building critical infrastructure is what we do every day, but coming together to support families in need when it matters most is what truly makes our work meaningful. Thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket, made a donation, or supported the cause! ☘️ 👷🏼‍♂️ 💚 ⛑️

A few weeks ago, our NQ Shamrock team got together on-site at Townsville Hospital for a special double celebration: celebrating NAIDOC Week and marking the successful completion of our works on the Townsville University Hospital Tec NQ Carpark.

We were happy to welcome over 140 attendees to the event, including our valued clients, subcontractors, VIP guests, and local community members, who joined us to reflect, connect, and honour the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the region. Thank you to the Traditional Custodians of the Land in which our project was completed on, the Bindal People, who carried out a Smoking ceremony, Welcome to Country and performed some traditional dances for us on the day.

This project milestone also signaled the official wrap-up of our second Construction with Purpose campaign. Through the collective efforts of our crew, subbies, suppliers, and partners, we are thrilled to announce that we raised over $32,000 for Ronald McDonald House North Australia.

Knowing that our civil construction efforts on-site directly support sick kids and their families staying at RMHC Townsville makes this project completion exceptionally meaningful.

A huge thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, made donations, worked on site, and joined us for our NAIDOC Week event. Building infrastructure is what we do, but building up our communities is why we do it. 🏗️✨

With the CCF Awards just around the corner, we are happy to share the news that one of our own, Michael McConkey, has been named a finalist for Plant Operator of the Year in the CCF People’s Choice Awards!

Mick’s dedication to precision, safety, and operational excellence on site every single day makes this recognition so well-deserved. He sets the standard for what it means to be a top-tier operator, and we couldn't be prouder to have him flying the flag for Shamrock Civil, and doing so for over 20 years!

Please join us in wishing Mick the best of luck for next Friday night! Standard-setter, legend on the sticks, and now a finalist. Well done Mick! 👏👏

Big news out of North Queensland! 🌟

We are excited to share that Nasser Zamara has been named a finalist for Young Employee of the Year at the 2026 Townsville Chamber of Commerce Business Awards!
Nasser’s recognition comes off the back of his brilliant work curating and leading our Construction with Purpose campaigns, most notably driving our recent fundraising efforts that saw us raise over $32,000 for Ronald McDonald House North Australia.

His drive, passion for the local community, and dedication to delivering meaningful impact both on site and beyond embody everything we stand for at Shamrock Civil Engineering.

The Townsville Chamber Business Awards Gala is happening this Friday night, and we couldn't be prouder to see Nasser up on stage among North Queensland’s brightest emerging leaders.

Good luck for Friday Nas! 🤞🏆

Nothing kicks off a new financial year quite like a team BBQ.

Yesterday, the team at head office fired up the BBQ, enjoyed the coffee cart and officially welcomed in the new financial year.

In the last 12 months we’ve tackled some big projects, hit some great milestones, and none of it would have been possible without the effort our team puts in every single day.

Thanks to Maggie's Belarista and bakeries for stopping by!

In civil construction, your project is only as strong as your subcontractor network. 👷‍♂️ 👷‍♀️

On one of our remote Queensland projects, environmental stewardship isn’t just a line item in a compliance checklist; it’s a core responsibility. We know having the right partners on-site makes all the difference. 🤝🏼

We are incredibly proud to work alongside our subcontractor, Ironjack recycling, and their engaged flora and fauna specialists, Wild Encounters.

The Wild Encounters team works 5–6 kms ahead of the ground crew, scouting the terrain to identify habitat trees, nesting areas, and other critical environmental indicators before any heavy equipment arrives. Thanks to this early intervention, expertise, and care, we’ve been able to safely find, protect, and rehome several local animals during our works, including snakes, birds, wallabies, and echidnas.

When your subcontractors and their specialist partners operate as a true extension of your team, you can look after the environment while safely hitting your construction milestones.

Thank you to the Ironjack Recycling and Wild Encounters teams for helping us build with purpose and keep Queensland’s wildlife safe! 🌿🐨🦅

Over the last two weeks we hosted two senior students from Hymba Yumba Independent School for a hands-on look into the civil construction industry, for work experience.

Mahalia spent her time in the head office getting a comprehensive look at how our operations run behind the scenes. She threw herself into a wide range of departments, gaining experience across administration, safety, HR, estimating, equipment & fleet, reception, and marketing.

Meanwhile, Terry took a hands-on approach out with the workshop and maintenance crew, getting stuck into the mechanical side of our operations and working alongside our experienced team.

Providing meaningful pathways and real-world experience for young people in our community is incredibly important to us at Shamrock Civil. Both Mahalia and Terry brought great energy to their work experience, and we have no doubt they both have incredibly bright futures ahead of them.

Thank you for all your hard work, Mahalia and Terry!

Things are kicking along nicely at our Townsville University Hospital project - where we are running our latest community initiative 'Construction with Purpose' - last week we fired up the BBQ to support our partners at Ronald McDonald House -North Australia

Site BBQ's are a staple for us, but they always mean a little more when they serve a dual purpose. Beyond a good lunch, it was an opportunity for our crew, subbies and suppliers to dig deep and support the incredible work RMHC does in providing a 'home away from home' for families with seriously ill children.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed, or has donated so far. We are well on our way to smashing our target of $10,000 for RMHC at the completion of the project! It’s a privilege to work on a project that supports the local community while giving back to those who need it most.

We are excited to launch our newest 'Construction with Purpose' initiative in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Australia.

Through our work on the Townsville University Hospital Carpark 17 extension, we’re committing $1 for every man-hour worked to support families with seriously ill children, turning progress on site into real impact in the community. Raising money via on-site BBQ's and raffles, our aim is to donate over $10,000 by the end of the project.

At Shamrock Civil, we believe the projects we deliver should go beyond infrastructure. This initiative is about supporting the communities we work in and making a meaningful difference where it matters most.
