Golden Bricklaying Services Bricklaying A bricklayer or mason is a craftsman who lays bricks to construct brickwork. A notable person who laid bricks (as a hobby) was Sir Winston Churchill.

The term also refers to personnel who use blocks to construct blockwork walls and other forms of masonry. In British and Australian English, a bricklayer is colloquially known as a "brickie". The training of a trade in European cultures has been a formal tradition for many centuries. A craftsman typically begins in an apprenticeship, working for and learning from a master craftsman, and after a nu

mber of years is released from his master's service to become a journeyman. After a journeyman has proven himself to his trade's guild (most guilds are now known by different names), he may settle down as a master craftsman and work for himself, eventually taking on his own apprentices.

Garage brickwork above roller door had dislodged from the pier and the single skin brick work was dangerously ready to collapse.

Bricks were carefully removed and cleaned to be reused following the original art deco design.

A T-bar lintel replaced the old, rusted original which allowed us to build a double brick skin for greater strength and stability, while still retaining it's original look.

Side gate wall section in need of serious repair and TLC.

The single brick structure above the gate had collapsed and the pier had dislodged from it's original position, over time.

Did I mention there was virtually no concrete footing at the base?

Every brick component was dismantled and cleaned for reuse with some modifications to recreate it's original appearance including a new concrete footing.

The orignal single brick lintel (rusted) was replaced with a T-bar to create a stronger, double brick construction.

Beautiful, art deco style front fence using glazed bricks in much need of restoration.

Tree roots behind fence had pushed it forward and created multiple cracks throughout structure.

Main damaged area was deconstructed, original bricks cleaned for reuse and the rest of the fence was tuckpointed to create uniformity in appearance.

One of the original gates had fallen off and was reattached with new, galvanized, gate hardware.
All part of the process.

Bringing back this beauty to its former glory!
