SENIOR ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team. Focusing on high-end luxury electrical new homes, industrial and commercial clients throughout the Sydney Greater region. This opportunity is available within an established business of over 10 years, completing commercial, residential, and industrial work within the electrical trade

About the Opportunity:
MDB Electrical Services covers all areas of the electrical trade as well as servicing a couple of unique markets, so the work is often interesting and diverse.
This position is full and is suitable for someone looking to build a career and become part of our team long term. Based in Castle Hill with plenty of parking on site.

In this role you will be responsible for Estimating from start to finish including completion of tender forms.
The position will consist of the following:
● Reviewing and assessing client brief’s, drawings, and specifications.
● Using knowledge of AS3000, Basix and relevant building codes to ensure compliance when pricing work
● Undertaking detailed take-offs, obtain outline overall costs.
● Prepare and develop accurate job cost estimates meeting all agreed timeframes, whilst ensuring all profit margins and cost objectives are met on all tenders
● Develop alternative cost management options for clients.
● Prepare and present documentation including tenders in which materials, parts, and labour (and their costs) are itemized,
● Supporting Project Managers and site teams with project documentation, WHS documentation, project deployment including stock control and creating purchase orders, variations, and project changes.
● Keeping documentation up to date for both tenders and live projects
● Assist management with pursuing new customers, tender leads, and opportunities
● Acting as the point of contact for customers for queries on estimates, providing proactive communication to the customer on project updates and issues.
● Working independently to undertake estimation activities engaging with suppliers and project managers.
● Tracking and following up on recent tender submissions.
● Sourcing suppliers for unique lighting and audio solutions for or customer

The ideal candidate:
● Be sales focused
● Driven and self-motivated
● Have great attention to detail
● The ability to work autonomously and within a team
● Excellent planning and prioritising ability and commitment to meeting tight deadlines
● Well-developed analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
● The ability to establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships
● Experience in the coordination of bids and tenders
● Have previous experience estimating commercial and residential works (Minimum 2 Years)
● SimPro Enterprise Experience (Minimum 1 Years)
● Possess a good understanding of the building process, knowledge of AS3000, Basix and relevant building codes
● Excellent communication both verbal and written, interpersonal and negotiation skills
● Proficient in using Microsoft Office
● A proof of right to work in Australia

Experience with the below is advantageous but not essential:
● Knowledge of Groundplan, Clipsec of similar take-off software
● Lighting design
● Electrical trade training or qualification
● Trade qualification
● SimPro Enterprise Experience (Minimum 1 Years)

We currently have roles available for 1st Year Apprentices, 2nd Year Apprentices, 3rd Year Apprentices, 4th Year Apprentices and Tradespersons.

MDB Electrical Services is a progressive organisation, with a strong focus on WHS, communication, learning, and development. Our team are responsible for delivering high-end new home builds throughout Sydney, on time and on budget. We've got a growing team of dedicated professionals, who like you, pride themselves on providing exceptional work.

Week to week, you will be working on residential, industrial, and commercial electrical projects coordinating with our project managers and admin team to ensure, equipment, and materials are onsite at the right time, and that the job completed is completed to a high standard of workmanship.
We have the industry's leading systems, great customers, and a showroom with office in Castle Hill but you will be starting onsite, normally at 7am. Current worksites are located in Castle Hill, Killara, Pymble, Northbridge, Moorebank, and Sydney Greater region.

What we need you to bring to this role:
• strong work ethic, pride in yourself and the quality of your work
• an ability to undertake manual and physical work
• ability to learn on the job and follow instructions / standard procedures
• a basic understanding of electrical concepts
• great communication skills
• the ability to work within a team
• punctuality, reliability, and motivation
• ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
• willingness to undertake a TAFE apprenticeship course
*Mature aged applicants are encouraged to apply.

Preferred but not Essential
• a good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel email and be PC savvy
• completed Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Course e.g. Certificate 2 Electrotechnology or currently undertaking Certificate 3 Electrotechnology
• a basic understanding of electrical plans
• own hand tools and PPE
• onsite electrical experience in new homes and commercial premises
• ordering stock and stock control
• writing job cards and service reports before leaving site
• EWP Card and Working at Heights Card

Licenses Required to apply for the role
• Drivers Licence and own transport. Public transport will not suit this role
• White card
• National Police check
• Covid-19 Digital Certificate
