We're proud to celebrate Log House being featured in the latest edition of Local Project—a project where material innovation and craftsmanship define the architectural experience.

The home's defining feature is its bespoke log-lined off-form concrete, developed through more than 12 months of prototyping and collaboration. Split plantation pine logs, installed with their natural bark retained, created a richly textured imprint that captures the grain, depth and character of timber in concrete. As daylight moves across the façade, the surface continually reveals new layers of texture and shadow.

This thoughtful approach to materiality extends throughout the home, from reclaimed tallowwood feature beams and patterned quartzite crazy paving to the careful reuse of the original formwork logs as the front fence. Every material was selected and detailed to celebrate authenticity, longevity and craftsmanship.

Bold Brutalist expression meets refined craftsmanship on High Street.
We celebrate as Armadale Offices is now completed and handed over.

The project draws on the monumental forms and raw materiality of 1950s–60s Brutalism — 47 precast concrete columns and 134 fluted façade panels forming a striking street presence, paired with steel shroud windows and glass brick banding that carries the identity into the laneway.

Delivered within a live urban site with tower crane logistics and millimetre-precise precast installation, and finished with rooftop solar, rainwater harvesting and intelligent lighting — the result speaks to strong collaboration across the whole project team.

Interior Spaces

We're delighted to see Log House featured in the latest edition of Local Project—a project that reflects the power of close collaboration, craftsmanship and a shared commitment to exceptional design.

Behind its sculptural concrete shell lies a series of carefully considered interior spaces where every detail has been purposefully resolved. From the exposed off-form concrete ceilings with seamlessly integrated lighting and services, to concealed sliding door cavities, reclaimed tallowwood beams and bespoke joinery, the home balances technical precision with warmth and liveability.

Every element was meticulously coordinated to preserve the architectural vision while delivering a functional family home. It's this level of collaboration between architect, client and builder that transforms complex construction into spaces of quiet beauty.

We are delighted that two of our projects have been featured in the recent Local Project issue.

The first for the two - Garden House is a layered architectural intervention that delicately extends a historic home and garden in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. It is a study in contrast and continuity - a heritage home respectfully restored, a sculptural addition quietly embedded, and a subterranean world revealed through light, material and craft. The new addition, while bold and sculptural, presents as a quiet companion to the original house. Rather than competing with the past, most of the architectural intervention descends below ground, creating space without erasing history.

LDS II Residence is a highly considered transformation of two existing homes into one cohesive contemporary residence.

Defined by restraint, refined materiality and enduring craftsmanship, the project transforms without excess — proving luxury lies in thoughtful resolution. A core group of existing elements were worth honouring from the outset: oak parquetry, Juparana granite, brass hardware. Where originals couldn't be sourced, the design found ways to pay tribute rather than replicate.
