The NECA TAS branch represents electrical and communications contractors across Tasmania from small businesses to multinational conglomerates. Our members work across every facet of the industry including Accredited Service Providers, Date & Communications, Security, Fire, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, Solar and Smart Wiring. The NECA TAS branch provides advice and support to help our members,

and the wider industry, to operate and manage their businesses more effectively. NECA members have access to phone and email support through NECA Member Services ensuring that you and your business receive specialist and expert advice. The NECA team can assist your business with Legal & IR, WHS, Technical Advice, Government Advocacy, Training & Apprenticeships and Workwear, Corporate Clothing & PPE and ongoing member benefits. When you become a NECA Member, you will have joined a network that will provide you with the tools and resources to POWER UP your business.

Recently, NECA Tasmania Women in Electro Advisory hosted the 2026 Women in Electro Awards. This was a successful event, and it was great to see so many people support women in the industry!

The NECASafe team recently met with HIB Electrical in Hobart to run through training on the NECASafe Empower App, along with delivering the Swiss Cheese Theory Toolbox Talk.

The session focused on practical use of the app in the field, improving reporting and compliance processes, and reinforcing how small gaps in controls can align to create incidents if not managed effectively. The HIB team were highly engaged throughout the session and continue to show strong commitment towards improving their safety systems and workplace culture.

Late payments and cash flow pressure continue to be one of the biggest risks for contractors.
