123 House by Neil Cownie Architect — a home where material, memory and place are closely intertwined.

Set on the site of a former service station in Nedlands, the project draws on the owners’ Greek heritage and the history of the site through a layered palette of ceramic, masonry, timber-fibre acoustic surfaces and coloured glass.

Across the exterior, LOHAS Plasma Pearl White wraps the articulated roofscape and upper wall forms, creating a continuous ceramic expression against the softer sandy brickwork below. Inside, texture and colour continue the story — from acoustic surfaces to coloured glass referencing the petrol and engine oil once associated with the site.

A beautiful example of materials working together as part of a much broader architectural idea.

Abuelo by Studio Nesef is a beautiful study in material, colour and craft.
